Full Disclosure: This has not been a clean Carnivore weekend for me! Holy Moly it's been a disaster. Why? Because I'm super tired and flat out didn't care. Until now. And I'm looking back, asking myself, "WTH?" Just goes to show, I may never fully be healed of the addiction. And that I need to never have my trigger foods in the house! And the stupid thing is, they don't taste that good anymore! 🙄🙈🤦♀
The culprits in all this disaster? Heat, humidity, work stress. Then more work, more heat & humidity and lots of farm work. And finally more more, more tiredness and lack of rest on the weekend with the knowledge of a yucky work week.
Excuses? Maybe. But also my reality and I didn't deal with it very well, foodwise.
Friday, picked up 2 more lugs of peaches for the kidders. Chores in the heat. That night's dinner was fine. Salmon and shrimp.
Saturday: Up at dawn to prep for the tree removal. That took all morning in the heat with the mosquitos and trying to keep the Littles out of the way and away from a bee swarm (came out of the felled tree.) After that was all over, housework, helping pick up bales, city for groceries and date night. It was later when we got home.
Again not too bad, food-wise: Coffee x? 3? 4? Chicken salad, Carn Snax, Caesar Salad & Ribeye, then some Not on plan dessert.
Today: Up early to can the peaches. Farmer would have helped but he wanted to mow before it got excessively hot. 19 quarts and 6 hours later they are done. I tried to get in a nap, but boys called and I love talking to my grown kids. I over-did yesterday in the heat and I woke up to massive cramps in both calves and just poor sleep in general.
Coffee x3 with protein shake, chicken salad, Carn snax, pork rinds, peach & blueberries and whipped cream x2, left over ribeye, reheated in butter, tomato & olive salad, and another dessert.
Tomorrow I will cut back to burger patties and scrambled eggs. I'm going to take care of myself and write this in my mental journal as a reminder to do it the next time I'm feeling overwhelmed with life. Life is still a gift and God is blessing me. I need to remember the discernment He's given me and work the plan. We all slip and as long as I get back on the wagon, I will continue to move forward.
All this was "reported," to encourage anyone else who is feeling like they "failed" by getting side-tracked. Just look into the why and get back on the right path. We Can Do It!
Hugs all around!!

The before, the crane (tall/high!), how they took out the pieces of the tree, Farmer hauling away the big pieces, showing the cut off branch where the bees were, taking the limb off the house (found 2 holes through the shingles. Contractor comes tomorrow to assess and cover.) The last part of the big tree and the stump that is left. I'll use it as a big pot stand. We really, Really miss the shade from it!
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤

Thinking about the year ahead can be overwhelming when it comes to goal setting. For some people, like me, short term goals can be much more motivating. Right now it's beast mode through the Meetup this Saturday. That said, I do still have long term goals for the year. Staying carnivore is just a given now as it's my life already so I have to dive a little deeper for me. I'd like to stay in the same weight range but lower my body fat a bit. Gain some muscle mass in short. Gym at least 4 times a week and beast mode at the same time is my recipe.
Steak video for interest. 🤪
Do you do better with short or long term goals?
So sorry guys, my 2 1/2 hour drive home from the cabin is turning into a 5+ hour drive home so I am not going to make it in time to Livestream tonight. I'll post the link for the Dr Berry Livestream for tomorrow when I know it. I'll catch up on posts here when I get home if you have any questions.
Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend is going well! I found some great looking chuck roasts at Costco yesterday. I am going to be cooking them today as some meal prep, what's your favorite way to make a chuck roast?
Unfortunately my Mom has been in the hospital this week, she spent several days admitted due to a gallbladder flare combined with a diverticulitis flare. She needed some antibiotics and fluids but is home now and doing much better. She is seeing a specialist next week to see what they recommend.
What's the most sad about it is the food they were feeding her while she was in the hospital. She was on a liquid diet for a couple days, and they knew she was previously a Type 2 diabetic and needed to be careful with her sugar. Despite all that they literally just have her sugar filled items to drink. They gave her a small cup of broth with each meal but then everything else they gave her was full sugar sodas, apple juice, puddings, ice cream etc. It was crazy!! Even after requesting that she has things with no sugar they still gave her the same foods but just switched to a 0 sugar soda. 🤬🤬
The hospital called her to check yesterday after she was home and asked what her sugar ...
So, my fiance and I started working at the same hospital again and he was talking with other nurses about process foods and diet. He mentioned my name and how I am more strict than he is when it comes to being carnivore. Suddenly I found myself answering questions to curious nurses who want to lose some weight. Of course I told them about @Lauraespath and this group. Hopefully they will find it is a good way to lose weight and be healthy.
