Happy Tuesday Evening All.
Just got home from a rousing program all about camping and nature by K-2nd grades. We have one boy who is too cool, one almost 7yo (tomorrow) who is very focused on what she is doing at all times and one Kindergarten social butterfly. They all were so cute and did a great job.
After hugs and kisses, we stopped off at our local Mexican place for a steak and eggs (little cheese and sour cream). I ended my fast earlier with avo-kraut and 2 beef sticks. 43 hours.
I was going to do another 42-48 hour fast but I'm wondering if my protein is too low to sustain this? My last week's stats were:
Protein: 73g daily
Fat: 72g daily
Cal: 1035
Carbs: 14.4g
Carbs too high and protein too low I feel. So I'm trying to add protein the rest of the week. I've cut out most dairy except for the cream in my coffee and the small amo ...
I'll be weighing in this weekend and then again in 2 weeks. I dread it but yet a month is too long and I feel out of control waiting 4 weeks.
I like fasting but maybe I should only do 1 or 2 24-36 hour? I'd like to see the scale move, get my "Whoosh!" going.
And for today's inspiration:
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Thinking about the year ahead can be overwhelming when it comes to goal setting. For some people, like me, short term goals can be much more motivating. Right now it's beast mode through the Meetup this Saturday. That said, I do still have long term goals for the year. Staying carnivore is just a given now as it's my life already so I have to dive a little deeper for me. I'd like to stay in the same weight range but lower my body fat a bit. Gain some muscle mass in short. Gym at least 4 times a week and beast mode at the same time is my recipe.
Steak video for interest. 🤪
Do you do better with short or long term goals?
So sorry guys, my 2 1/2 hour drive home from the cabin is turning into a 5+ hour drive home so I am not going to make it in time to Livestream tonight. I'll post the link for the Dr Berry Livestream for tomorrow when I know it. I'll catch up on posts here when I get home if you have any questions.
I know it's been talked about in this group recently but who would be interested for a Beast Mode challenge for May? 🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♀️ I know I personally am in need of that. Traveling so much the last month has caught up to me and my body is ready for a reset and to be extra strict.
"Beast Mode" isn't just a specific list of rules I can give everyone to follow all the same protocol, because we are all different and need different things based on where we are in our journey. It's just a way for us to all set our own rules for ourselves and get strict together (we can help you figure out what the right protocol for you is if tou are unsure). Maybe you need to cut out diary, or coffee, or processed meats etc. Or maybe you just need to focus on cutting out sugar right now or some other treats that have been throwing you off. It's about doing something hard for a month to help you get back on track, break a stall, or just focus on healing.
You don't have to decide today ...
Up 15 pounds since I fell off after November last year! going BEASTMODE in May to get myself back on track. I would love to see how much weight I can shed now through mid June as I have a 3 day 180 mile charity bike tour I’ll be riding for the first time in 10 years and any weight I can drop will make it a lot easier to get through the trip all the better! In fact I have a trip afterwards to the DR in July and would love to keep it going through till then as well so looking for suggestions on ways to stay carnivore around friends doing high-level cardio for that trip. Otherwise I’ll probably fall off for a bit and just eat the potatoes, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and beer that they have everywhere…
I’ll tell myself that it’s just for that weekend to fuel the ride but I know it’ll go far beyond.
