Happy Monday and fly home for us this evening!
We have had a wonderful time with everyone but I'm ready for my own bed. We are so blessed that DDIL's family have embraced our son and us as theirs. All the way down to cousins and ex-inlaws.
We got to spend hours with DGD#1 and hear all about her college life from her in person. It was a sweet time and I miss her so much already. Her twin, #2, told us all about her rescue puppy and her struggles with a few classes, which is new for her. She is super smart on so many things. She'll get through this as well, I'm sure.
DGD#3 walked the stage and is ready for the Europe trip and then college starting the end of July.
DGD#4 has a few more days of her freshman year left. It's been lovely seeing what a beautiful young lady she is becoming. No longer a little girl.
Today we're having brunch with the family, then just spending the afternoon with them, as the rest up from this very full week. We fly out this evening.
Asking for prayers as it is supposed to be storming over Omaha. 🫣 I'm not a great flyer.

M1: coffee ( my DDIL's bil saved me with the coffee maker here. 😁)
M2: Stopped at the store and made Laura's chicken salad before the ceremony.

Hubby is awake and we need to get packed for our ride in 2 hours.

Big Day!

Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.

Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪

Wednesday, September 3rd

Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.

What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?

Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.

For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...

Happy Sunday!! I hope you are using today as a day of rest and restore to prepare for the week ahead. We have 2 church services this morning, family lunch, and then hopefully some rest after that.

This is a question I like to pose occasionally in the group when we have an influx of new people, (I might record a video today on this topic as well). "What are the things you would tell someone starting carnivore in 2026?"

I have to share that I brought a lot of food with me on my weekend of track 4 burger patties 8 hard boiled eggs some tillamook snack cheese and we also stopped at grocery store and got ribs no sauce they were so good! I noticed my clothes were fitting looser when I got home weighed myself I lost 2 lbs but I made sure to eat a lot! I also cut my calories to what my TDEE says to lose weight and feel great. Thanks to @VeebsKale I didn't just starve myself cause there was no food I prepared for there being no food and brought my own! The key that has helped is to pay attention to my weekly average cause there has been some days I eat a little more and that is okay I was hungry 😋 Also my son made it to state for shot and disc. I will also be prepared as we will be gone for 3 days instead of 2 this time.
