I have to share that I brought a lot of food with me on my weekend of track 4 burger patties 8 hard boiled eggs some tillamook snack cheese and we also stopped at grocery store and got ribs no sauce they were so good! I noticed my clothes were fitting looser when I got home weighed myself I lost 2 lbs but I made sure to eat a lot! I also cut my calories to what my TDEE says to lose weight and feel great. Thanks to @VeebsKale I didn't just starve myself cause there was no food I prepared for there being no food and brought my own! The key that has helped is to pay attention to my weekly average cause there has been some days I eat a little more and that is okay I was hungry 😋 Also my son made it to state for shot and disc. I will also be prepared as we will be gone for 3 days instead of 2 this time.
Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.
Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Sunday!! I hope you are using today as a day of rest and restore to prepare for the week ahead. We have 2 church services this morning, family lunch, and then hopefully some rest after that.
This is a question I like to pose occasionally in the group when we have an influx of new people, (I might record a video today on this topic as well). "What are the things you would tell someone starting carnivore in 2026?"
First travel weekend on carnivore and I’m really proud of myself.
Between airports loaded with food, road trip snacks, diners, a Mexican restaurant, being stuck in Kansas because of truck issues, and total schedule chaos… I stayed on plan.
IHOP = eggs & bacon.
Mexican restaurant = plain carnitas and carne asada with sour cream & cheese.
Diner = water and my Starbucks (wasn’t hungry and did a partial fast).
Road snacks = sugar-free jerky, pork rinds, electrolytes, and lots of water.
Even kept up with movement and PT exercises during the drive.
Big realization this weekend: you actually can do carnivore while traveling. You just have to decide ahead of time that you’re going to make it work instead of “starting over Monday” (my old and very familiar mantra).
On Day 23, what I’m noticing the most is how satisfied I feel. I’m not obsessing over carbs the way I thought I would.
I did have one moment at Dallas Fort Worth where I thought, “I could just relax, enjoy the trip, and start over...
Happy Sunday.
We celebrated the girl (DGD#3) yesterday and she was so happy.
DGD#2 was in a minor fender bender with a guard rail, but she is fine with minor damage to her car.
We'll get to see her twin (DGD#1) today! It's been 2 yrs! (Due to their family drama and school schedules.)

Yes I consciencely made the decision to eat a couple of things off plan. Today, back on plan as best we can. I hear it's pizza tonight after the ceremony. I do have carn snax and beef sticks so may just forego the pizza and have those later. Monday evening we fly home, so will probably fast if I can. Definitely on the flights.
Please pray for the heartland and the storms. ...
