Laura's out of town this week for work so that's when i usually have some struggles due to being bored and not having my accountability partner around. This week is a bit different since the kids are both doing summer camps so I'm busy running them all over town, doing my jiu jitsu classes and a few chores. Staying busy is so helpful for avoiding those temptations. Tomorrow I'm going to stop in to wild fork and stock up on some meats and spend the rest of my time being productive. I know a lot of us have been struggling with this lately so share your best tips to avoid temptations that others can put in their toolbox?
Wild Fork has all kinds of meats, even exotic type stuff. What's something different you all have tried and recommended I try?
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Thinking about the year ahead can be overwhelming when it comes to goal setting. For some people, like me, short term goals can be much more motivating. Right now it's beast mode through the Meetup this Saturday. That said, I do still have long term goals for the year. Staying carnivore is just a given now as it's my life already so I have to dive a little deeper for me. I'd like to stay in the same weight range but lower my body fat a bit. Gain some muscle mass in short. Gym at least 4 times a week and beast mode at the same time is my recipe.
Steak video for interest. 🤪
Do you do better with short or long term goals?
So sorry guys, my 2 1/2 hour drive home from the cabin is turning into a 5+ hour drive home so I am not going to make it in time to Livestream tonight. I'll post the link for the Dr Berry Livestream for tomorrow when I know it. I'll catch up on posts here when I get home if you have any questions.
Happy Wednesday!
I was at the river last week for a few days. It was a lot of fun and beautiful. We have a good setup in our car which is pretty comfortable. However I was in the pool and outside so didn't have my phone on me most of the time.
It seems like a lot are doing really well and a lot may be struggling. I did eat a few things off plan if I am being honest but nothing crazy. I am ready to get my head back into the game 100%. I don't have anything coming up or anything to shoot for. What I want is to just feel my absolute best and that is what I am working for. I want to do it for me ❤ I am not trying to drop this amount of weight in this amount of time. It will all about just being 100% Carnivore with dairy occasionally but probably rare. No snacking!! I also want to start getting up a little earlier to have more quiet time with God. Going to take it one day at a time! Hope everyone is having a great week!
Quickly. I'm still alive. Work is very stressful. I'm surviving. PHD with a protein bar (or two.) I'm counting it a win as I'm not diving head first into the ice cream or cheetos bag.
I'm off to bed now so I can do it all over again tomorrow. Yay! 🙄 🫣 🙈 🙉 😬
Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! I was catching up on Locals tonight and just wanted to reach through the screen and give several of you that are struggling a big hug. I also wanted to say how proud of am to those of you that reached out saying you are determined to get back on track again! I know how hard that is and it takes tremendous courage to reach out and not just isolate yourself. But that isolation only feeds the addiction.
As I was reading several of your posts I was reminded of an old podcast episode that contained many lightbulb moments for me personally on my journey. I had heard Dr. Cywes talk on a very obscure podcast many years ago (before anyone knew him as "The Carb Addiction Doctor" ) and he shared some things that were pretty life changing for me. When Judy and I used to do the CATG podcast we had him on and I asked him to share several of those things that he talks about that helped me so much.
If you are currently struggling I encourage you...
