Good Morning Y'all!! Today has been 3 weeks of being back on track. I have learned some more things during this time around. I can not have caffeine from a coke(Zevia cream soda). In Arkansas most people call any carbonated beverage a coke no matter if it's a coke, dr pepper, sprite, or whatever. Anywho I also learned I still have to watch what dairy I eat. The only dairy I seem to tolerate is butter and raw cheese. I'm down 6 pounds in 3 weeks. I was down 9 but I gained a few back from walking due to I'm building muscle. I have stayed carnivore for a majority of the 3 weeks but July 4th and I tried a stuffed jalapeño pepper. Nope can't tolerate peppers. I'm feeling much better. The inflammation isn't completely gone but it's went down a lot. I'm walking daily in preparation for a mission trip to Nicaragua in November 2026. So my goal is to get in better shape for the trip. The friend that's the team lead for the trip advised us a few months before the trip to start walking in preparation and drinking more water. My thoughts is do this in advance instead of waiting last minute. That's just the way my mind works. BLESSINGS!!
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤

Thinking about the year ahead can be overwhelming when it comes to goal setting. For some people, like me, short term goals can be much more motivating. Right now it's beast mode through the Meetup this Saturday. That said, I do still have long term goals for the year. Staying carnivore is just a given now as it's my life already so I have to dive a little deeper for me. I'd like to stay in the same weight range but lower my body fat a bit. Gain some muscle mass in short. Gym at least 4 times a week and beast mode at the same time is my recipe.
Steak video for interest. 🤪
Do you do better with short or long term goals?
So sorry guys, my 2 1/2 hour drive home from the cabin is turning into a 5+ hour drive home so I am not going to make it in time to Livestream tonight. I'll post the link for the Dr Berry Livestream for tomorrow when I know it. I'll catch up on posts here when I get home if you have any questions.
Happy Monday!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! I was catching up on Locals tonight and just wanted to reach through the screen and give several of you that are struggling a big hug. I also wanted to say how proud of am to those of you that reached out saying you are determined to get back on track again! I know how hard that is and it takes tremendous courage to reach out and not just isolate yourself. But that isolation only feeds the addiction.
As I was reading several of your posts I was reminded of an old podcast episode that contained many lightbulb moments for me personally on my journey. I had heard Dr. Cywes talk on a very obscure podcast many years ago (before anyone knew him as "The Carb Addiction Doctor" ) and he shared some things that were pretty life changing for me. When Judy and I used to do the CATG podcast we had him on and I asked him to share several of those things that he talks about that helped me so much.
If you are currently struggling I encourage you...
Update as promised...
I weighed this morning and my 12 days of choosing carbs and sugar treats caused a 7.8 lb gain. Not surprised.
I am back in the saddle today.

Happy Sunday! My knee has been feeling better thankfully and we were able to do some hiking yesterday and I have been able to take some long walks with the family the last few days.
We head back down the mountain this morning for church and to get prepped for a busy week ahead. The kids both have camps this week and I am flying to Texas tomorrow afternoon for work.
What are you doing today to prepare for the week ahead? Any meal prep? What can you do today to set yourself up for a successful week?
