@Lauraespath I bought some ox tail at Sam's club but I have no idea how to cook it lol . Thought I would give it a try
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Thinking about the year ahead can be overwhelming when it comes to goal setting. For some people, like me, short term goals can be much more motivating. Right now it's beast mode through the Meetup this Saturday. That said, I do still have long term goals for the year. Staying carnivore is just a given now as it's my life already so I have to dive a little deeper for me. I'd like to stay in the same weight range but lower my body fat a bit. Gain some muscle mass in short. Gym at least 4 times a week and beast mode at the same time is my recipe.
Steak video for interest. 🤪
Do you do better with short or long term goals?
So sorry guys, my 2 1/2 hour drive home from the cabin is turning into a 5+ hour drive home so I am not going to make it in time to Livestream tonight. I'll post the link for the Dr Berry Livestream for tomorrow when I know it. I'll catch up on posts here when I get home if you have any questions.
Spent last weekend with my buddies from California. We rode out in the forest, did some shooting and grilled back at the cabin. Total great time. One thing that's hard for me to get over is watching them live their lives, eating whatever they want and drinking 100 beers a weekend, yet being in shape and relatively good health. Sure it will catch up to them at some point, but it causes some frustration in me knowing how hard I have to work everyday just to feel good and maintain. I did have a few low carb seltzers and paid for it for sure. It's taken me a long time to accept that I just can't have that life. I burned my body out too fast and now I have to pay it back.
Below is the skirt steak and chicken I grilled for tacos (I skipped the tortillas ☹️)
Does this also drive you nuts sometimes? How do you process it?
Happy Thursday evening everyone.
This will be quick as I'm tired.
Work has not improved since I was off for a week. The stress eating is a real thing for me. It's good I have nothing except frozen burger patties there.
However this evening I made up for it by eating more than a serving of blueberries with my protein waffles and bacon.
On a good note, we got to see our Little #1 play an awesome baseball game. It was more of a scrimmage as they are transitioning to player pitch. He pitched pretty well and then got all 3 outs in the inning when he played first base. 3 solid hits when at bat. His coaches are awesome and he is a popular one with his teammates. It all makes his grammie's heart so full.
Not as much exercise as I would like as I cannot leave the office at lunch this week while my office-mate is gone. We've been busy in the evenings, but I'm hopeful for either a walk or rebounding tomorrow night.
Ok off to read and lower this cortizol that has been coursing though my veins all ...
Took the day off of work and went to the Art Museum in Chicago to see an exhibit of Frida Kahlo before it closes. We are fortunate to have a train nearby that makes daily runs and drops you right downtown. I had lunch at the cafè. It was pretty good… not super carnivore, but it was low carb. I didn’t eat much of the lettuce. I still managed to stay close to my calorie plan. I was going to fast for 24 hours but changed it to 18 since I was hungry when I got home. I also included a picture of a fancy chick fil a location.
