Funny thing...
I now walk through the aisles of the grocery store without being tempted by all the stuff in the colorful packages (mostly!). It's taken years to get here.
When I first went paleo over ten years ago I would go to the store and it was so hard! My dad was struggling with Alzheimer's and my mom had her own health/dementia/stroke issues. They were vegan and all the vegan junk food was on their plan, as well as tons of kale. As much as I loved them I was determined not to be them when I got to their age.
I would walk past those aisles, especially the temptation placed strategically in the middle of the center walkways, and every time I would reframe that desire to purchase as: "That's Alzheimers in a package."
I repeated it all the way through the store. If I picked up something and put it in my cart (yes, that happened) I tried to stop before check out and take it out and say it right then as I put it aside. Wasn't always successful but
I guess I said it so much to myself that it worked. Now I walk down those aisles and it's not even food. That's not to say I can't have trouble now and then, I still do sometimes, but I have my mantra.
Whatever your heart motivation, Alzheimers, strokes, heart attacks, try reframing those temptations. It really works.
You can train your brain. Let's do this!😀
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤

Thinking about the year ahead can be overwhelming when it comes to goal setting. For some people, like me, short term goals can be much more motivating. Right now it's beast mode through the Meetup this Saturday. That said, I do still have long term goals for the year. Staying carnivore is just a given now as it's my life already so I have to dive a little deeper for me. I'd like to stay in the same weight range but lower my body fat a bit. Gain some muscle mass in short. Gym at least 4 times a week and beast mode at the same time is my recipe.
Steak video for interest. 🤪
Do you do better with short or long term goals?
So sorry guys, my 2 1/2 hour drive home from the cabin is turning into a 5+ hour drive home so I am not going to make it in time to Livestream tonight. I'll post the link for the Dr Berry Livestream for tomorrow when I know it. I'll catch up on posts here when I get home if you have any questions.
Happy April Fool's Day! No jokes from me about giving up meat today, I don't think anyone would believe it! 😂😂 Today starts the conference that I am here to, yesterday was a crazy day of preparation and then happy hours of course that lasted well into the night. Today I had a very early call for sound check and then dinner that will go till past midnight I'm sure. I'll catch up more here in a couple of days when this conference is over.
I hope you all are doing well and are feeling good about setting some goals for April! What is your one non-negotiable goal you are going to stick to in April that will help you be successful?
Hello, tribe.
Going to bed soon. It was a long day for me. I had my labs drawn today for my annual primary care visit. After, I drove 2 hours to my house to water my plants. Then some meat shopping and another 2 hours drive back to the rental house.
At my house I cooked some eggs with pepperoni and breakfast sausages. I confess I felt tempted to add cheese to it, but didn't. I only ate 2 times today and drank coffee x2 also. My second meal might seem disgusting for some. It was a can of sardines and pork rinds. It tasted like fish dip with crackers. I really enjoyed it. I didn't track my macros at all. But it was totally carnivore.
Sleep well, everyone. God bless.
Happy Monday! Today is officially the last day of March! In continuing with the reflection on how things went over the last month, today we can focus on places we got stuck or ways we got off track. This is not a confession or a time when you have to list all the things you did wrong... It's a time to take note of how did those slip ups happen and how can you learn from it to make you stronger in April.
And if you didn't write positive thing in yesterday's feed, you're not allowed to talk about the things that went wrong. 🤪 Go back and write what went well on yesterday's posts first before you focus on the negative.
