The body is weird and I cannot predict how it will react to anything these days. Early December I hit a new low of 164 lbs and I was pretty darn excited and a week later and for three weeks I bounced back up to 168 lbs, down to 167 lbs for a week and now back down to 164 lbs. I am eating fewer carbs at the moment, so maybe that accounts for the drop back down? Who the heck knows! And that my friends is why I take measurements, because they are a much better indicator of progress. Or I look at how my clothes fit. Yesterday I bought a pair of size medium Lululemon pants. A MEDIUM!!! Pretty sure I haven't worn a medium since I was in my early 20s. 😲
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Thinking about the year ahead can be overwhelming when it comes to goal setting. For some people, like me, short term goals can be much more motivating. Right now it's beast mode through the Meetup this Saturday. That said, I do still have long term goals for the year. Staying carnivore is just a given now as it's my life already so I have to dive a little deeper for me. I'd like to stay in the same weight range but lower my body fat a bit. Gain some muscle mass in short. Gym at least 4 times a week and beast mode at the same time is my recipe.
Steak video for interest. 🤪
Do you do better with short or long term goals?
So sorry guys, my 2 1/2 hour drive home from the cabin is turning into a 5+ hour drive home so I am not going to make it in time to Livestream tonight. I'll post the link for the Dr Berry Livestream for tomorrow when I know it. I'll catch up on posts here when I get home if you have any questions.
We'll my post today was going to be about I was on a streak this week with working out. I made the "mistake" of commiting to Penelope I would work out with her daily and she will NOT let me off the hook. So everyday this week so far she and I have done a workout in the backyard (Nathaniel half does it with us). She has a workout plan for us and everything.
Unfortunately last night at the end of the workout she was racing Nathaniel with bear crawls and crab walks and landed on her hand wrong and broke her finger. She was in a lot of pain at first (and we spent several hours at urgent care waiting for X-rays etc) but by the end of the night she was just feeling sad that she's out of commission for the next 4-6 weeks. Her day to day activities are all about being active (Jiu Jitsu, biking, rollerblading, playing lots of sports at the park with friends) as well as playing the piano daily. She's pretty bummed that she's going to have to put all that on hold for a while. Butt we'll ...
Chris was able to get Penelope into an orthopedic doctor this morning. They had to numb and reset her finger and then put it in a cast 😭😭😭
I was worried about how it was off to the side, even with the splint from the urgent care (they didn't seem to know what they were doing). But THANK GOD Chris got her in to see someone this morning and we are resetting it quickly so it didn't heal all weekend and then they realized next week it was off.
The picture of the two x-rays is the before and after they reset it this morning. She's going to have a full cast on for 3 to 4 weeks and then she'll have a brace for several weeks.
She's been a trooper for all of this that's for sure!
Only 16 hour fast today.. my schedule was a little different today. I wasn’t able to eat enough and I am hungry now but will push through ! Had a great surprise while shopping for some dress pants. My step daughter graduates next Saturday. I grabbed a pair of xxl and xl pants because I wasn’t sure which ones fit… well neither one fit ! I had to have the associate get me a L and they are a little snug but look good. She said they do stretch a bit after wearing them. Needless to say, that is some great motivation !
