We had such a good time yesterday at the Healing Humanity event. Chris did such a good job on his talk, very proud of him. It's always so fun to meet so many people in real life. The dinner after at the Brazilian steakhouse was chaos but very fun! I didn't get many pictures so if anyone else got some feel free to post them. I shared pictures from some of the other people that spoke.
Today we are going to church and then after that I am going to try and do NOTHING for the rest of the day. I had a really long week at work and just need one day of rest before this busy upcoming week. My Mom also flies home early this morning and is going back to snowstorms so please send her some warm prayers for safe travels. Anything we can be praying for you for today?
*Reminder the Livesream this week will be Thursday evening.
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Thinking about the year ahead can be overwhelming when it comes to goal setting. For some people, like me, short term goals can be much more motivating. Right now it's beast mode through the Meetup this Saturday. That said, I do still have long term goals for the year. Staying carnivore is just a given now as it's my life already so I have to dive a little deeper for me. I'd like to stay in the same weight range but lower my body fat a bit. Gain some muscle mass in short. Gym at least 4 times a week and beast mode at the same time is my recipe.
Steak video for interest. 🤪
Do you do better with short or long term goals?
So sorry guys, my 2 1/2 hour drive home from the cabin is turning into a 5+ hour drive home so I am not going to make it in time to Livestream tonight. I'll post the link for the Dr Berry Livestream for tomorrow when I know it. I'll catch up on posts here when I get home if you have any questions.
Happy Friday! It is good to be home and sleep in my own bed. Now that I am using a sleep tracker it's pretty crazy to see the difference in how I sleep in different environments. I also can definitively tell my body is under "high stress" when I am sleeping if I eat late or exercise right before bed. Its helpful information but also hard to not obsess about it. It's good to know how different things affect you but then also know when we can be flexible based on what's going on in our life.
What are some of things that affect your sleep for the good or bad?
Happy Thursday!! I'm at the office this morning and then I fly home this afternoon. It's been a busy week so I'll catch up on posts here in Locals when I'm at the airport later. I'm excited to go home, thankfully I've been able to stick to carnivore pretty easily this week.
I have had some more dairy than usual and I had some meat from a Mexican restaurant yesterday that probably was cooked in seed oils because I felt a little bloated afterwards. But I was able to have a nice strip steak for dinner last night that was totally plain and the cooks were great about not using any oils or sauces on it. I have also been able to get 10,000 steps in everyday as well, which I'm really proud of, I don't think I'd ever done that on a work trip before.
Today I will just eat my Carnivore Snax as I travel home. What are you eating today?
Purchased our 2nd half cow this year, and once again, Roseda Beef blessed us! Keeping in the tradition, we name all our cows to honor the amazing animals they are and give thanks for nourishing our family. Welcome home, Otis. This haul was 472 lbs, at $5.62 /lb. Even Aldi & Costco can’t compare to the price and taste. These are Aberdeen Angus Bulls that have grazed their entire lives at a farm 20 miles north of me. They are grassfed and selective grain finishish (no corn, soy, or wheat). Best beef I’ve ever eaten! If you’re close to Maryland, they have a farm store where you can buy whatever cut you’d like without buying in bulk.
