We had such a good time yesterday at the Healing Humanity event. Chris did such a good job on his talk, very proud of him. It's always so fun to meet so many people in real life. The dinner after at the Brazilian steakhouse was chaos but very fun! I didn't get many pictures so if anyone else got some feel free to post them. I shared pictures from some of the other people that spoke.
Today we are going to church and then after that I am going to try and do NOTHING for the rest of the day. I had a really long week at work and just need one day of rest before this busy upcoming week. My Mom also flies home early this morning and is going back to snowstorms so please send her some warm prayers for safe travels. Anything we can be praying for you for today?
*Reminder the Livesream this week will be Thursday evening.
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤

Today would have been my brother's birthday, he died when he was 13. It's crazy to think of him as an adult, much less 43 years old. Penelope is currently the age I was when he died, and Nathaniel the same age my younger brother was. The older my kids get the more I just can't imagine what my Mom went through. We are glad she is visiting for a couple weeks and we get to spend this time with her.
I talked about this a bit on a recent Livestream, but how we handle days like this drastically changes when we can no longer use food to numb ourselves. That's the hardest part of long term weight loss, is learning to manage the hard times, and change our relationship with food. It's still a work in progress, but for today I am glad to be surrounded by family and honoring the memory of my brother Jonathan. And I am so thankful we are all healthy and safe.
This past Sunday I had the rare occasion of going out to eat for lunch by myself. In N Out was on the menu so I placed my standard order of 2 flying Dutchmen and 10 meat patties. They called my number and when I picked it up at the counter, the girl tried to give me 8 forks. I asked for just 1 and said, "it's just for me". She looked so confused haha. I still do one meal a day and 14 burger patties seems like a lot but it's only 1.75 pounds of beef and 4 slices of cheese. A lot for 1 sitting for most people, but not bad for me. I've always been a volume eater and this amount makes me feel the fullness I need to get me through until morning.
Are you a volume eater? What triggers that full feeling for you?
Hey Y'all I didn't do so good today. I had a busy day: prayer meeting, pickup from Walmart, 10Box grocery, baked some stuff for others, and making some carnivore crusts by the Carnivore Twins. Also just really struggling emotionally with my cousin being in her last stages of life. It absolutely breaks my heart. I didn't do any walking recorded today unfortunately but I did walk. Blessings!!
