I weighed in today and I’m down 4.6 lbs from January 1. The bloating and extra water weight is almost back to where I was before the week of Christmas Eve when my choices wavered.
Do people share their actual weight here for accountability or is it upsetting for others that may have more to lose? Or is it inspiring to others?
I plan to eat breakfast and lunch and do a 24 hour fast and eat after church tomorrow.
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤

There's been a lot of headlines lately about a study showing that a ketogenic diet can help reverse mental conditions such as schizophrenia, depression and bipolar. I know of many anecdotal stories that would support this. Unfortunately when the government makes the recommendation, it gets political. Hopefully those suffering will wade through the noise and give it a shot.
Did you notice any mental health improvements with this way of eating? Do you think the societal needle will move?
Happy Tuesday.
The taxes are at the accountant, let's hope my befuddled brain got it all correct. (I'm pretty sure it's ok. I double-checked and requested that if our accountant finds something wonky, to call me. Good thing I work a block away.)
We are both feeling the affects of late winter? colds? chem-trails? 🤷♀🤷♂ All I know is I'm dang tired of feeling this tired. I need warmth and sunshine!
And for my ears to clear up! I guess it's better than the stomach flu or a chest cold.
I'm getting back into the Lion diet gear. I don't feel great when I eat other meats like chicken or pork. I can do the occasional wings or bacon, but thats about it. We're going to request that our hunter doesn't give us bacon anymore as "rent" but maybe a chuck roll instead. Or gift card to the "fancy" butcher shop in the city.
Also will be cutting back on the dairy (again). I'll finish up the Greek yogurt and the HWC and that'll be it for a while.
I need to get my "ROAR" back. (Someone come up ...
Happy Monday!! I made it to Madrid yesterday, has some delays but thankfully it wasn't too bad. I actually slept more on my overnight flight than I typically do (I am terrible at sleeping on planes). My coworkers (all female 😂) and I went to an Turkish bath spa upon arrival and got some massages and soaked in the pools (the first picture is what it looks like inside). It was the perfect way to shake off the jet lag. Then we went to one of my favorite restaurants and had some amazing pork belly and picanha. It will be a very busy week but I am feeling good and excited to be here.
How was your weekend? What is your non-negotiable for this week?
