Okay I never ask this (and normally I don't care), but this is my first video working with Thrive as a sponsor so I would love for it to have good reactions. If you watched my Fridge/Freezer video and liked it can you go give it a Thumbs up please and even possibly put a comment (not about Thrive just in general). Please 🙏🏼❤️
That kind of stuff early on definitely helps videos be recommended more and can help with views overall.
Thanks!!!
Thinking about the year ahead can be overwhelming when it comes to goal setting. For some people, like me, short term goals can be much more motivating. Right now it's beast mode through the Meetup this Saturday. That said, I do still have long term goals for the year. Staying carnivore is just a given now as it's my life already so I have to dive a little deeper for me. I'd like to stay in the same weight range but lower my body fat a bit. Gain some muscle mass in short. Gym at least 4 times a week and beast mode at the same time is my recipe.
Steak video for interest. 🤪
Do you do better with short or long term goals?
So sorry guys, my 2 1/2 hour drive home from the cabin is turning into a 5+ hour drive home so I am not going to make it in time to Livestream tonight. I'll post the link for the Dr Berry Livestream for tomorrow when I know it. I'll catch up on posts here when I get home if you have any questions.
Happy Monday! How are you feeling today? Everything go well this weekend? Any challenges?
I know you have goals/non-negotiable set for the whole year, but Chris talked the other day about how short term goals can be really motivating. Each Monday I like to set a new goal, it might be the same as the week before or maybe you made a small tweak based on how things are going. But I think that doing short term goals and small adjustments like this is so much better than sticking with something that's not working, or making drastic changes.
So what is your one goal or non-negotiable for this week?
*Supporter Livestream Thursday this week (and next week).
The body is weird and I cannot predict how it will react to anything these days. Early December I hit a new low of 164 lbs and I was pretty darn excited and a week later and for three weeks I bounced back up to 168 lbs, down to 167 lbs for a week and now back down to 164 lbs. I am eating fewer carbs at the moment, so maybe that accounts for the drop back down? Who the heck knows! And that my friends is why I take measurements, because they are a much better indicator of progress. Or I look at how my clothes fit. Yesterday I bought a pair of size medium Lululemon pants. A MEDIUM!!! Pretty sure I haven't worn a medium since I was in my early 20s. 😲
Funny thing...
I now walk through the aisles of the grocery store without being tempted by all the stuff in the colorful packages (mostly!). It's taken years to get here.
When I first went paleo over ten years ago I would go to the store and it was so hard! My dad was struggling with Alzheimer's and my mom had her own health/dementia/stroke issues. They were vegan and all the vegan junk food was on their plan, as well as tons of kale. As much as I loved them I was determined not to be them when I got to their age.
I would walk past those aisles, especially the temptation placed strategically in the middle of the center walkways, and every time I would reframe that desire to purchase as: "That's Alzheimers in a package."
I repeated it all the way through the store. If I picked up something and put it in my cart (yes, that happened) I tried to stop before check out and take it out and say it right then as I put it aside. Wasn't always successful but
I guess I said it so much to myself ...
