Happy 1/1/25
I have been thinking a lot this past week. I went into my scale app and went back 5 years. The same pattern happens every year the end of December I would weigh and I am guessing didn't like it and didn't weigh again until January or February. It is just interesting because I drop weight all year and by end of Dec gained a lot back then January/February start again. However I did notice something positive. Everytime I start again in Jan/Feb I was always lower than the year before. I am still down 30 lbs then I was this time last year. This is still been a great accomplishment even though I have gained I am still at my lowest. Starting at the weight I am now is freaking awesome to me. I am excited to get to goal this year. I know it will happen. I have no doubt. That is so exciting to me.
I found a notebook and I had no idea what was in it. It was the picture of some quotes. I feel like I wrote them down and never looked at them again. I am going to try to commit to reading them everyday as a reminder of what I am doing and why.
I got this prayer book as well and I figured I share the very first page. So many things I want to happen this year. However I know it takes patience and it is in his timing.

Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.
Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Twas like Christmas for me this week. We've had our Weber Genisis II for almost 10 years now. It still works fine, but the new ones have some features I really wanted for a while. This week we happened to see the one I want for a deal, plus I get 10% off, free assembly and delivery as a veteran. Saturday the new one was delivered and I couldn't be happier. This one has an extra sear burner and a side burner so I can cook fish outside in a pan. I feel blessed and excited for lots of steaks to come. (Below is the new one and old one.)

Happy Monday!! I hope you had an amazing Easter weekend!! How are you feeling today? I am headed out on a short work trip today, I'll be back Wed but then I leave again Saturday for another short trip. I got an order of Carnivore Snax in last week thankfully so I'll take that with me on my trip. Planning to make time for walking/exercise in the hotel gym.

What is your non-negotiable for this week?
I can’t wait till school is out and I can slow down a bit. I feel all out of sorts and off kilter. Food is great 1/2 the time, the other 1/2 is ok. Exercise is great, at least an hour in the pool 3-4x a week.
Oh and my daughter has a 3rd date this week with blind date guy. He’s a tad shorter and overall smaller frame but he seems like a very nice guy.
Hubby was at work last night and another vendor on the job site hit his car with a forklift. Thankfully hubby was not anywhere near the car and no one was hurt. 😵💫 So another thing to navigate.
I’m doing a light charcuterie spread for a bridal shower this weekend. I will also be doing her wedding in May. 💞
