Happy 1/1/25
I have been thinking a lot this past week. I went into my scale app and went back 5 years. The same pattern happens every year the end of December I would weigh and I am guessing didn't like it and didn't weigh again until January or February. It is just interesting because I drop weight all year and by end of Dec gained a lot back then January/February start again. However I did notice something positive. Everytime I start again in Jan/Feb I was always lower than the year before. I am still down 30 lbs then I was this time last year. This is still been a great accomplishment even though I have gained I am still at my lowest. Starting at the weight I am now is freaking awesome to me. I am excited to get to goal this year. I know it will happen. I have no doubt. That is so exciting to me.
I found a notebook and I had no idea what was in it. It was the picture of some quotes. I feel like I wrote them down and never looked at them again. I am going to try to commit to reading them everyday as a reminder of what I am doing and why.
I got this prayer book as well and I figured I share the very first page. So many things I want to happen this year. However I know it takes patience and it is in his timing.
Thankful for all of you and the support of this group! 2025 is going to be great❤
Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.
Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Friday!! How has your week been? I am very excited for the weekend, hopefully will catch up on lots of sleep and record some YouTube videos. We have still been in puppy routine over here. Angus is sleeping through the night and mostly no accidents. We've been taking him a few safe places to get him used to people/the car etc. We've had him for 2 weeks and he's getting so much bigger already!!
What are your plans for the weekend? Any temptations you are expecting? How are you going to handle those so Monday morning you are feeling proud?
Who is this person that took 2 walks today, during the work day??
One to walk back from the tire repair and a 15-min after I ate lunch.
It'll be too hot when I get home, do rebounding later.
🤯💪🏻🚶🏻♀️
Happy Thursday!! We talk a lot about short term goals and monthly wins etc, I think focusing on those is very helpful in building motivation and keeping you on track. In this group, at least we rarely look at the full growth of our entire journey. I thought that might be something fun to share today, especially considering we have some new people in the group. Plus the downside to really focusing on one month at a time and lots of short-term goals is that when we're feeling stuck, we forget how far we've truly come.
So today, share the biggest improvements or positive changes you've seen since starting Carnivore/low carb, (or whatever works for you). Also share how long it took to see those changes, that can be very encouraging to show people what can happen when you stick to a healthy lifestyle!!
