Good morning and happy new year to all!!

Well, here we are. Day one of the year. Feeling a little down. Away from family. Feeling lonely I guess. I will go for a walk and after I will keep watching my marathon of The X files to keep me distracted since I already did laundry and cleaned around the house.

Here's a picture of my last night meal.

I hope you all enjoy your day with family and/or friends.

Big Day!

Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.

Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪

Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.

What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?

Sunday, Aug 31st

Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.

For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...

Friday, May 8th

Happy Friday!! I am planning on filming a bit of a "day in the life" video today, just outlining my current schedule and what I have been eating lately. Just showing a typical work day with my job, and exercise, and food, (+Angus) etc.

What does a typical week day look like for you? What time do you get up, exercise, eat, etc? I love seeing other people's schedules/routines. 😂🥰

So here’s a problem I ran into yesterday at work. I didn’t take food for lunch with me. I shopped around and Door Dash and didn’t want to pay the price to get food delivered. I couldn’t leave the office because I was working through lunch.

Luckily, I have a stash of jerky and mixed nuts in my desk. I went up to our breakdown where we have snacks to purchase (not like a snack machine but like a mini store) and got 2 string cheese to eat with my jerky. I went to my stash just to realize I’ve eaten all the jerky!🤦‍♀️

After looking at the carb count on the nuts vs the little protein, I just decided I would eat the cheese then eat a big dinner.

When I got home I cooked a pack of bacon and ate 6 slices. My husband was cooking steak and I went ahead and had him cook 2 for me. I only ate one. But my numbers weren’t too bad.

Here food logs and dinner!

Good morning, I'm looking for suggestions on alternatives for coffee. I'm trying to break my coffee/caffeine habit. I used to be a few cups of coffee extra cream and extra sugar. I'm down to 1 cup of coffee with 2 tbs of cream.
Any suggestions? I've tried tea and so far that's not doing it for me.
Has anyone tried bone broth with some butter? A good bone broth to try? Thanks for the help!
