Good morning and happy new year to all!!

Well, here we are. Day one of the year. Feeling a little down. Away from family. Feeling lonely I guess. I will go for a walk and after I will keep watching my marathon of The X files to keep me distracted since I already did laundry and cleaned around the house.

Big Day!

Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.

Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪

Wednesday, September 3rd

Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.

What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?

Sunday, Aug 31st

Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.

For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...

Friday, May 29th

Happy Friday!! How has your week been? I have definitely been making up for my rest days last weekend and walking lots the last few days. We have a mostly relaxing weekend ahead, which is good because we have a VERY busy month of June. I am going to do a Livestream on Sunday afternoon/evening on YouTube, probably around 6pm Eastern time. Sharing a few cute Angus pictures.

What are your plans for the weekend?

My accountability for Thursday, May 28th: I was hungry in the morning so I had a couple of hot dogs just to get something in my stomach. If I didn't eat anything I was worried I would over eat or eat something I shouldn't for lunch. Every two weeks we go to a study and then we bring food and share lunch together. What I brought was not carnivore. Anyways, they had fixings for a taco bar along with fruits, asparagus, etc. I was proud of myself because all I had was taco meat (too spicy for me), sour cream and shredded cheese. I have to admit I was tempted to eat non carnivore but I held strong. It really helped that I listen last night to the podcast @Carriecrops shared with me. In the afternoon I had a few spoonfuls of cottage cheese because I kept bringing up that spicy taco. I thought it my sooth it. For supper had some beef sausage and some wings. Day 3 clean- I traveled home today and drank a protein drink in the car and then had burger patties when I got home.
Super stressful situation happened. My car locked my key fob in the car at the gas station (about an hour and a half away from home) with my 2 dogs and phone. Usually when the key is in there, it won’t lock, but for some reason it did. To make a long story short I used the gas station phone to call my car dealer who suggested I call OnStar. I didn’t know my husband‘s work phone by memory either. I was able to connect with OnStar, which I don’t even have an account with, but my car was in their system. I think because my dogs were locked in the car they saw that as an emergency and ended up unlocking it. That was so cool how they could do that!!! I now have a free trial to see if I want it to keep it. 😁

I was at a gas station full of junk food, but I didn’t even go there in the midst of this mess. Yay me!!

Summer school starts tomorrow.
