Good morning and happy new year to all!!
Well, here we are. Day one of the year. Feeling a little down. Away from family. Feeling lonely I guess. I will go for a walk and after I will keep watching my marathon of The X files to keep me distracted since I already did laundry and cleaned around the house.
Here's a picture of my last night meal.
I hope you all enjoy your day with family and/or friends.
Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.
Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Accountability for Monday, June 1st:
What a crazy/stressful day. I won't go into details but the jest of it is that we are looking to buy a different house. I was proud of myself that I didn't let the stress get to me and cause me to eat something I shouldn't eaten. It was around 1:30pm when I first ate. I had 2 leftover pork chops. Just ate them cold. I did not get any exercise in today. My husband asked if I wanted to go for a walk and I knew I should have but all I wanted to do is chill out and try to finish a book I had been reading for a while. Didn't finish the book 📚 but it still felt good to read in it. I had a friend call me and we spoke for about an hour. So it was like 9:40pm when I had supper which was egg salad and pork rinds.
Happy Monday Bedtime (in 30 mins.)
I went to work today and while I'm tired now, it was good. Except for still not being able to hear. I clued in my boss & managers about this issue. Thankfully I really never get phone calls nor at this time of year do we have walk-in clients.
I got in a good hour of work (oh the list of to-dos!) when my computer decided it didn't want to stay connected to the wi-fi/internet (which is how we connect to the main office.)
After 4 hours a tech from our support team came out and worked on it all afternoon. I was supposedly up and running when we realized I didn't have access to the drive that holds all the client information. Last I heard was that he was coming back to our office (or logging into mine computer) after his 9 p.m. meeting and it is possibly my motherboard. Well, yay! 🙄
Tomorrow I'll have to see where I can work from, my desk, my co-worker's (who's off on Tues) or my boss', wayyyy in the back office.
Asking for more prayers for Ds1, ddil & dgd#3 who are...
I am super excited that a local store near us (45mins away) has ribeye loin for 8.49/lb!!! This is the lowest I have seen it. Although...you don't know the quality until you look at it but it's worth the risk. They even slice it for free. I know what I am doing tomorrow morning. I could eat a steak a day almost.
