Chris and I were planning to spend the weekend at the cabin alone while my Mom stayed with the kids. However, the kids have been sick enough that we decided to stay home for now and just wait till they are feeling better. But with that change of plans we have been trying to be productive around the house. We got all of Christmas put away yesterday and hoping to get some YouTube videos filmed for today.
I am doing a Livesream on YouTube on Sunday afternoon to kick off World Carnivore Month for January. That would be a great thing for someone to join who is considering giving Carnivore a try in January.
What are your plans for the weekend?
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤

Happy Friday! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! We had a very relaxing day. I went for a walk in the morning, Chris's aunt lives in a nursing home near our cabin and she joined us for the day. We had a wonderful lunch, played games, and watched some football. When Chris drove her back home the kids and I went for a walk. I saw a big elk during my morning walk and the kids and I saw him again in the afternoon. I did actually get dressed and wear make up at some point but I didn't get any pictures of that. 😂 We finished the day with a campfire in the backyard, it was a very special day.
How was your day? No matter what you ate, or didn't est yesterday today is a new day. Are you all doing any shopping today for "Black Friday"?
Thanksgiving went great, I think….
Yesterday morning my glucose was 74 and ketones 1.7
I ate tri tip and allowed myself to indulge in some jalapeño poppers for my holiday treat.
I fasted through our entire family gathering! Not a single bite of food! I left there feeling so proud of myself!
We got home and I ate some more tri tip, turkey, some cheese and 2 more poppers.
I felt good about my food choices, the poppers made the day feel special but seemed harmless.
BUT! My glucose this morning is 99 and my ketones are gone once again at 0.3!
I’m not going to beat myself up over those numbers. I could’ve easily ate some terrible stuff that was very abundant.
It just blows my mind how easy it is to get kicked out of ketosis and it takes WORK to reach those ketones.
I hope everyone had a beautiful day with family. The sun was shining here and it felt so good to get some on my eyeballs!
