My only regret was not taking a pic! My daughter made the most delicious prime rib I’ve ever had. There are six of us and she thought I was crazy for buying a 7 lb roast from our local butcher. There’s not much left! My tummy is happy!!!

Big Day!

Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.

Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪

Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.

What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?

Sunday, Aug 31st

Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.

For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...

Touching on the points from Laura's video she posted yesterday, I too am flexible with most or all of what she mentioned. After doing this so long, you figure out where you can keep the results you want and maintain sanity and enjoy some fun in life. Next week I'm meeting a friend in Denver to see a concert at Red Rocks (bucket list item). I know I won't have access to a grill and fresh steaks so I'll probably end up getting wings at a bar, fried in bad oil. I also might have a beer or two at the show. I've managed to get myself to a place where I can do that and get right back on track, but many cannot so it's not advised for everyone. We all have to be honest with ourselves and make the best decision for our lives and health. Each deviation may affect a different person a different way.

Are you a I follow every rule person, or I make my own rules and am doing fine person?

Accountability for Tuesday, June 2nd:

Breakfast: 2 hamburger patties & a hot dog

Supper: Warmed up the last left over pork chop, cottage cheese and egg salad with pork rinds.

I didn't do any exercise. I have things on my mind and had he excuse it was too hot to go for a walk (which it wasn't). Again I just wanted to chill. I did read my book a little bit. On the 2nd last chapter. I need to turn things around and incorporate some sort of exercise.

I missed my accountability post yesterday so here it is.

Blood sugar: 121

I starting fasting after dinner Monday night and plan to break my fast this morning (Wednesday). That will make a 37+ hour fast. My fasting goal is once a week between a 24-48 hour fast. I always aim for at least 36.

I have order new weights and didn’t do well on steps yesterday.
