Accountability post day 8
One week in and I’ve broken my plateaued 6 pound range. Today’s weight 249.7! I took my last dose of Mounjaro 7.5 last night. We are weaning me down. Next week I’ll do 5mg for 1 month then 2.5 for one month then I’ll be off. As long as my A1C stays controlled we will start coming off Juardanice too.
Breakfast: coffee, LMNT, HWC
Lunch: 9 slices of bacon
Dinner: smoked chicken and pork
Snack: butter balls
Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.
Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Sunday!! Excited for a fun family day today! Church this morning with my Mom, then we'll come home to have a great late lunch, maybe get in the pool this afternoon. For lunch we are grilling steaks and chicken (grilled veggies for P), and I will probably make some bread cheese!
What are you eating today? Keeping it simple or having a big Sunday feast?
I will for sure do a Livestream tomorrow (Monday) for supporters at my usual time of 7pm est.
Happy Sunday afternoon Family! It's finally a fall-like day on the prairie with rain showers. Tomorrow it will pop back up to 90 and then more rain the rest of the week. I'm ready for fall.
We've had too much stress in our life here lately. Jobs, Family, Farm, Retirement plans. I can feel it so much. I can't control some of this, but I can control what I have been eating, so we are starting a loose Lion diet. High beef/lamb with eggs. I will be watching my dairy, except for frying my eggs in butter.
By the end of the week, I hope to do either a 36 hour fast or a sardine fast for a few days as a reset. (If anyone wants to join me.)
Pros for the weekend: Spending Friday evening with our 9.5 yo grandson for his half-birthday one-on-one, finally! Sporting goods store (shopping), then evening putt-putt golf, then burgers. He was one tired kid on the way home.
Saturday I finished canning pasta sauce for the married kids. No more non-carnivore canning for the rest of the season. I hope to ...
Happy Saturday! My Mom arrived safely yesterday and we had a fun time visiting and catching up. She was here when we first brought Angus home but hasn't been back since, so he was extra excited about a new person in the house! Today P, my Mom, and I are going to see Les Mis (which is my Mom's favorite musical). Plus you know Chris will be cooking us all lots of good meat this weekend!
What are your plans for the weekend?
