I have lost over 100 pounds on a Carnivore diet. I share my lifestyle and diet on IG and YouTube. I am looking to create a Locals community for my closest fans/supporters. I want them to be able to connect with each other and have access to exclusive content from me.

Sunday, Aug 9th

Happy Sunday, we are having a very special visit in WV. Yesterday was a big family reunion celebrating my grandparents 70th wedding anniversary. We had 43 people there, all direct descendants from my grandparents (and spouses). The only people that couldn't come were my brother and his wife and kids. But special to think of 2 people getting married 70 years ago and now there are 47 people as a result of their loving marriage.

We have a few special things planned today, and then we fly home tomorrow. What are you up to this weekend?

I don't typically love cooking with cast iron, despite the excellent results they can bring. It's messy and smells up the house. Add to that, the one we have is super old and not very good. We were recently gifted a really good one from Lancaster Cast Iron so today I decided to give it a try. We have a side burner on our Weber so I could do it outside. I sous vide a steak, then seared it in tallow on the new pan. Man it was incredible. What a difference it made from our old one. Super easy clean up too. Below is the pan, of course I forgot to take a picture of the steak haha.

Do you love using cast iron? What are some favorites you make in them?

Big Day!

Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.

Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪

Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.

What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?

Happy Saturday! I walked over 21,000 steps yesterday. 😰 I had several hours of meetings in the morning where I walked on my walking pad the entire time, and then I took Angus for a walk in the afternoon. Adding consistent walks has probably been the biggest change for me over the last year. I also know I will be more lazy next week over vacation, so I am trying to keep my averages up by walking more this week.

I don't like "obsessing over the numbers" but having a tracker and getting my ✅ daily has been very motivating for me. I definitely need that daily reward and positive feedback the app gives me. 🤪 It's probably just because I am such a competitive person. Before Carnivore we used to have a lot of weight loss completions at work, I would always go Beast Mode and lose a lot of weight during the competitions (but always gain it back afterwards).

What about you, are you a very competitive person? What do you do to help keep you motivated daily? Do you rely on external...

Today we are having Thanksgiving. So Husband and I ate a afternoonish lunch. Smoked meat calzones and a side of carnoli...or bacon&ground beef roll ups. First time making the bacon ground beef roll ups. They were great! Husband gave it 2thumbs up.

Happy Saturday evening Family!
Gracious it gets dark early! I mean, I know it does after DST but does it seem to anyone else that it is getting dark really early. 5:30-ish and it was almost dark. I'm in the middle of the country, not way up north.
Thankfully today was sunny and warm. I opened the house up this afternoon and let in the fresh air. Since it rained this past week, no one was in the fields around us, so no grain dust!

QUESTION: Has anyone tried Jarvy creamers? Thoughts?

I worked hard today. Bookkeeping (mental workout) is mostly ready for our appointment on the 16th.
This afternoon I helped hubby winterize the big sprayer, then took photos of the old grain truck and grain cart so he can post it for sale on the interwebs.
Then I moved all my plants from the 3-season front porch to my home office. I was pushing it with temps down in the 30s the past 2 nights. I barely have room for them inside. I'll take photos once my Thanksgiving cactus and my orchid blooms. I moved the shelving ...
