Day 2 of our Beast Mode Challenge!! How are you feeling going into the weekend? I always say, "you know you're serious when you start your goals on a Friday!". Good for all of you for not "waiting till Monday" to get started! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The most important thing going into the weekends is to PLAN AHEAD!! Think about what temptations might arise and make decisions now for how you will handle them. The easier time to make a hard decision is before it happens, then in the moment you've already decided and have a back up plan.
What are your plans this weekend? What temptations will you be facing and how are you going to avoid getting off track?
Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.
Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Who is ready to crush some goals in May!? I am so excited for so many of you to be going Beast Mode for May!! This is just a way to level up this month, get yourself back on track, create some consistency, or break a stall. As you set your goals for May remember the most important thing is to just keep moving forward. It's not about perfection, it's about ending the month better than we started!! Post daily for accountability if that helps, we are all here to support you! Don't forget to take some pictures, even just for yourself. They are the best way to track your progress!
What are your Beast Mode Goals for the month of May?
1day of beast mode...grilled burgers and eggs. Was really tempted with cheese but I stayed strong. Used eggs to dip the hamburgers in. It was wonderful. Plan to pack a couple tomorrow for during track meet. Just in case.
his month has been hard vocationally, good spiritually, and progressive for health. I made the decision to quit my very taxing corporate job because of the unbearable workload plus the size of a team that I have felt responsible for 24/7. I am very committed to work but I realized the price my family was paying. Although I have one more week to go, I have worked only normal hours, focusing only on transition documents. I have had an interview for a really great career opportunity, but I truly hope to take a month off before diving into anything new. The Lord has blessed me with great peace during this time. I have seen already how much my son loves seeing me in the morning and when he gets off the bus in the afternoon. Prioritizing what is most important feels really good to me. When I told my acupuncturist I quit she said she was so happy for me. She said she has heard in my voice how stressful work has been. She asked to hug me and said she cannot wait to see how much my health ...
