Happy Saturday evening Family! Thank you all for praying for rain! We're getting it!!! Around us there have been winds and hail but we are getting a nice steady rain. Just on the other side of our pond (if you remember from my photos) it came down so hard, I could not see the trees. DS2 (the Littles family) had 10 mins of nickel-size hail. Hoping it did not damage his shingles.
We got all the corn planted and Farmer got the spraying done. Between the 2 of us we got the yardwork done before the rain. I trimmed and cut out volunteer trees. He mowed.
I've been moving non-stop since 8:30 a.m. and I am pooped. Cleaned house, laundry, chores, that yardwork, processed 10lbs of chicken leg quarters - cooked the drumsticks in the IP and deboned for meat; vacuum-sealed and froze the thighs. I'm not sure how well I'm going to be able to eat these. They are Tyson brand and they are not cleaned well. I usually get Smart Chicken which are clean and bled better. These were on a good sale, so 13 meals worth and then probably never again. (My best friend's sister in law works for Smart Chicken so I can get them at a discount.)
So the above is my movement & fresh air accountability (no sun today.)
Food was coffee (several times), protein shake, beef sticks and Carn Snax - Brisket (fast lunch). Dinner was chicken meatballs (clean enough) and one of those thighs. Hubs had a thin ribeye and deviled eggs.
And now I'm going to read for a bit and be in bed before 10 p.m. Sleep sweet all!
Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.
Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday!! We have a new member @michelle1215 that joined this week and is starting Carnivore today. She made a post yesterday asking for tips for getting started, I pinned it to the top so you can share some advice and give her some encouragement.
In addition to those tips, are there any specific podcast episodes or YouTube videos you can link below that were helpful for you in getting started?
Michelle you got this, we are rooting for you! 💪🏼💪🏼
Since I'm just starting tomorrow for the first time and I'm eating a bunch of sugar today because of course I'm starting tomorrow.... what are your top free tips for me so I can start successfully?
Hi everyone!! Decided to make an appearance 🤣 I’ve been off the wagon for about a month, just got back on this week. March and April have been extremely stressful at work, like almost quitting several times stressful and it was so easy to fall out of carnivore. I’m talking eating out, cookies, Crumbl, fast food… everything. I’m a mammo tech and this time last year I was seeing 15-20 patients a day. This year, 30! Lots of new policies and changes which just means more work for us techs in the same amount of time. Unfortunately I work for a big name imaging clinic and all they care about is the bottom dollar. If I could afford to quit. I would. There aren’t really any other jobs right now with different companies that aren’t pushing the same thing so I might as well stay.
Anyway this past week was hard with cravings, it’s amazing how carbs and sugar are a legit drug and I can feel how addicted I become with one bite. My gut is super confused. Like from one extreme to the...
