Happy Saturday!! I hope you had an great week. I am very excited with a weekend with very little plans after a very busy last 7 days. Here are some puppy pictures to start tour weekend off! 😂🐕🐮 What are your plans this weekend?
Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.
Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Hi all- I have been here in the background reading here and there. Life got pretty busy and stressful.
I’ve been in and out of the ditch but mostly out but regular at the gym which is keeping my sanity. (I’m hoping you see this whole post- not sure how to screenshot without the keyboard on the bottom.)
I just get so frustrated every time I go off. I won’t get into details but I get sucked in (like yesterday), think it’s ok for just a little, feel like garbage and then need to take a few days to try to get back into ketosis which I don’t even think I’ve been in regularly since last fall. 😡
More news that I haven’t shared is that my daughter and her fiance are having a baby. Not optimal timing but it’s happening. This is our first grandchild- a girl! We are busy plannng a baby shower and figuring out wedding plans as well. She’s due August 2 which is not too far.
I just want to let you know I’m here, but struggling and will try to do better to come here. I do need the...
Happy Friday Everyone!
Sorry I missed the live last night. Hubby was home and down with the sinus crud (yes! Again! Prayers appreciated!!) He's better today but still far from 100%. But good enough to filled the sprayer and then tag/band 2 new-born calves. One more to go and we'll be done with Spring Calving! (Can I get a Alleluia and an Amen!)
Life goes on for me. I have a mild version of what he has and only had to stay home and sleep one day.
We're keeping it carnivore, mostly. He did have chicken tortilla soup last night. (His go-to when sick with a cold/sinus.) I had Shrimp Alfredo over Egg White Noodles. it "scratches that itch" for pasta.
Tonight it was 1/3lb burgers on Chaffles. Yum!
I got my LMNT Lemonade Gift Pack today. I tried the Pink Lemonade. It is too sweet and yet subtle for me. The grandkids will love it. I do like the regular lemonade salt.
And I found the sparkling cans at my local Walmart. I got the Black Cherry. It is very good. But mercy! They are ...
It's not always steaks on my plate, although I could eat them forever. The price of good steaks has continued to rise so I like to mix in some budget days to save up for steaks. Yesterday was a great example. This meal was probably only a couple bucks. Makes it easier to have a more expensive meal tomorrow. Sidenote, this meal was fantastic! (Burgers and pork belly)
What are some of your strategies to keep things in budget and still enjoy the good stuff?
