Happy Sunday Family!
We're still dealing with wildfires in Nebraska. Thankfully none close to us here in the SE, but we are still concerned and praying for our neighbors in the west. Rain!! please Father God!!
It's been a week, still! Apparently I was in a bad way, as I've been told more than 3 times, I'm finally looking better. Sheesh! I chalk it up to not enough sleep. So will be hitting the bed before 9 p.m. every night for the foreseeable future. And hopefully by 8:30.
Yesterday I needed to help out the kids and babysit the grands, so I was up and out of the house by 6:30 a.m. Today we slept in until after 9 a.m. The old farmer guilt tries to get to us, but we really need to get our rest. Church can be done at home.
I've been reigning in my food choices. Mostly beef and eggs right now. Anything else seems to cause so much bloat.
And finally, a question: Anyone know anything about vibration plates? My ddil has one and I tried it yesterday for a few minutes. Is it worth getting? Benefits?
Ok, we're off in a bit to help support a donation drive for supplies going to for wild fire relief. If anyone wants to donation, LMK and I can get you names/info for where it can go directly to those in need and not big corporations.
Have a great rest of your Sunday!!
Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.
Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Sunday! I was supposed to do a YouTube Livestream today but Chris and the kids need to go up to the cabin for the night, which means I will be home alone with Angus. I just think it will be too stressful for me to manage him and that stream today. However, I will 100% be doing the Livestream on YouTube on Monday night though.
How is your weekend going? Yesterday we had my favorite meal of skirt steak, chicken, and shrimp...and today since I am home alone I'll just be eating leftovers.
What are you eating today? Share pictures below!
As an FYI, the Locals issue of posts cutting off when people posts pictures, only happens in the app. If you just go to the browser on your phone or computer and login you can see everything. They are working on fixing it though! Sorry!
Hi everyone!! We are currently driving thru Indy and I am trying NOT to pay attention to the traffic. We had a lovely visit with my husband's aunt and a few of her kids came over to visit as well. She was Amish..left at some point and homeschooled all her kids who are all very successful. We also stopped by and visit his cousin who is still Amish. I really enjoyed it. While on the way home we stopped at longhorn steakhouse since we had gift cards. Two steaks and a rack of ribs...$100. Deciding to drive the 2.5hrs home to save money not getting a hotel is worth it!! I would of loved to walk around Target tho.
