Went to a Mexican restaurant by my nail salon today. They apparently have a Sunday buffet so I had eggs, bacon, sausage, some pork in a green spicy sauce, and chicken in a red spicy sauce and sour cream to cut the heat. It was good but it did spike me a bit so I’m wondering if the sauces had sugar.
Dinner was Picahna and 2 slices of cheese.
Feeling like I need to pull out my kitchen scale and start measuring my meat for a couple weeks to make sure I’m eating enough or not too much.
Also funny/ironic side note: I’ve never been to this restaurant before and I noticed the name was el Diablo ( the devil)… and I’d just come from church. I’m sitting there eating and saw this sign which translates to : Let the devil take me 🫣🥴🧐. After that I noticed all the photos were devils or a devil dancing with a lady. There is a Mexican song apparently with those words so maybe that’s a theme? Anyway I found it ironic and prayed for them. Will probably not go there again. The food was good but not with the $30 charge… I should have asked the buffet price first. 😵💫🤦🏻♀️
Also got my nails done after lunch. It’s Cateye polish which I’ve never done before. Very fun.
Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.
Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.

Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...

Long post--I had a bad weekend. It is no one's fault but my own. My son's school called and pretty much came right out and said they want him back on his ADHD meds. First, I thought man that's ballsy. Second, we don't want to drug him....been down that route. But he is very addicted to carbs even with us having it out of the house he finds ways. After talking to him he has agreed to do diet and vitamins because he does not want to go back on meds either. He broke 6 bones because of the meds. We came up with a plan together (he is almost 12) daily exercise (easier when it's warm and baseball starts next week), whole real foods (I will call the school and say he is not allow to eat their food), and vitamins (magnesium, liver, saffron (I have it on order), vit D (it's still cold here in Ohio). I told him I will go tough too!
So I believe I have said this once before but I definitely need to go beast mode. I keep gaining and losing the same 5lbs but I still actually have 30 to go. So since...
It is already so HOT here! It's been 106°F (41°C) this weekend. That's very normal temps for our summers but it's definitely not usually this hot in March. The kids even got in the pool yesterday for the first time this season. We will keep grilling all summer but I am already craving more fresh summer recipes.
