Happy Thursday evening! I tell ya fam. Springtime in Nebraska is not for the weak. Blizzard on Sunday, frigid temps through Tuesday. Warm yesterday and plain old hot today and 90s on Saturday. No rain in the forecast unfortunately. You all can pray for that!! ( The wildfires are getting contained. Thank you Father God!!)
I'm sitting on the patio after my walk. I love hitting the gravel (after I get done😉😁.) I never regret it when I get to the flat before our driveway.
I'm off to start supper so I can get to bed early. And hurray, tomorrow is Friday!

Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.
Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.

Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. Happy Thursday!! We talk a lot about short term goals and monthly wins etc, I think focusing on those is very helpful in building motivation and keeping you on track. In this group, at least we rarely look at the full growth of our entire journey. I thought that might be something fun to share today, especially considering we have some new people in the group. Plus the downside to really focusing on one month at a time and lots of short-term goals is that when we're feeling stuck, we forget how far we've truly come.
So today, share the biggest improvements or positive changes you've seen since starting Carnivore/low carb, (or whatever works for you). Also share how long it took to see those changes, that can be very encouraging to show people what can happen when you stick to a healthy lifestyle!!
Back from vacation 💞 we had a lovely time. However New Mexican food is low protein and when you order ribeye or brisket or steak it comes in small portions and poorly cooked. I mean I didn’t think you could ruin a ribeye but they did. We could make a fortune if we opened a restaurant selling meat…
Also somewhere I saw a carnivore person post these beef burgers from Walmart and I tried them. Will definitely purchase them again. Broil 6 min from frozen and you have dinner!
I decided to try out a Lingo CGM biosensor as I have prediabetes and want to get a better picture of how food, meal timing, etc. impacts me. I’m low carb, and eventually want to get back to keto/ketovore. I’m fascinated with the Lingo - there’s an app and I think the graphics and feedback are great. I like getting a visual to see how and when carbs impact me and that unless I have enough fat and protein, I’m going to get a higher spike. Overall things have been looking pretty good.
