Popping on to say HI! It’s been a crazy week but I was able to stay 90% carnivore traveling and being in charge of a grazing table for 150 guests at my in laws 50th wedding anniversary party. I’m SO exhausted but it was beautiful and worth it. Plus I got to eat at BWW 2x while we were gone 🥰🥰
I didn’t get many photos because my phone wasn’t in me most of the time… but here’s a few and my sister was the photographer so she sent me the food pics since I didn’t have my phone on me before people devoured it.
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Well if you saw my Instagram stories yesterday you know that today we are NOT going to Mexico as planned. If you didn't know, there was an escalation yesterday between the Mexican cartels and the police, specially in Puerto Vallarta, and the US is recommending not traveling to Mexico. Roads are being blocked and the airport in Guadalajara was attacked.
We were going to Cancun, which at this point has not been affected, however not knowing if things will continue to escalate around the country in the upcoming days, we decided it was safest to not travel to Mexico this week. As a pivot I was able to get a refund on our hotel and flights, and immediately rebooked us to go to Maui, Hawaii instead. 😂 So we still leave this morning for vacation, just do a different location. Sending lots of prayers to everyone in Mexico currently. 🙏🏼
I will check in when I can but honestly we plan to just really disconnect this week and spend time together as a family. I will resume morning ...
I just had some birthday cake for my daughters boyfriends birthday and I feel so yucky. I think I have hit the point where I just can’t cheat anymore. It’s just not worth it. If I’m craving sugar all day tomorrow- it will definitely not be worth it.
Moderation just doesn’t work for me- I don’t know why I keep trying! 😖
I watched the live and am motivated to do beast mode. I will stay carnivore, no dairy except 1 coffee with HWC and omad 2 days/week. The other days I will make sure I eat 2-3 meals @1800 cals and will track. And I will be more active here.
Have a good week everyone!! ❤️
Happy Sunday! We have a few new people in the group this week, and a few people that have been here a while doing a bit of a reset or getting back on track. We have one week left in February , so a great time to set some short term goals and finish the month strong!
I thought this might be a good day to offer up some tips/advice for people for when they are getting started. Or share some things you WISH you knew when you first started. If you've been struggling and are getting back on track, what is your mindset going into this week?
Hope you have a wonderful Sunday.
