Happy Thursday!! I made it home yesterday and was able to spend a few hours with Penelope and finish out her birthday with her. I am taking the next couple days off work to rest and just spend time with the family.

I could feel my body literally draining on the plane. I just instantly started to feel sick and just exhausted to my core. I am sure some adrenal dumping from a crazy week, lack of sleep, stress, and under eating finally caught up with me. I had brought food with me but I was really just so busy the second half of this trip I just didn't even think about eating.

I know my body really is really needing some re-feed. Under eating for a day or so can be helpful for weight loss, but do it consistently and it drains your energy and signals your body to slow your metabolism down because you aren't giving it proper fuel.

The other problem with under eating is that it kills your appetite, so even though you aren't eating enough, you aren't even hungry!! So even though I didn't eat much the last few days, I just still am not hungry or wanting to eat.

I will almost do a bit of a reverse diet the next few days. I will make sure I have breakfast daily, even just something small. I make sure to go for some walks to help signal my body to burn energy. And I will make sure to have lunch, dinner, and maybe even a snack as well. Not huge meals, but just fat/protein several times a day to help perk up my appetite back to normal.

Is under eating something your struggle with?

Big Day!

Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.

Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪

Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.

What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?

Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.

For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...

It's been a wild few weeks in the Spath household. Lots of stress and anxiety which typically drives bad behavior with food in my case. Laura made sure I had a whole rib roast to cut into steaks so that I had plenty of proper fuel. Spent an hour yesterday cutting it up, along with a bunch of sirloin cap. We are stocked.

Do you cut up your own steaks? How are your butchery skills?

Way is it weekend always throw my routine off. Anywho...had a great weekend. Drove down to Columbus today for State Archery. Boys shot good. I made roade snacks and honestly I would of been better off just fasting thru and eating back at home. I made Laura's chicken salad (sooo good) but it made me snackish. I felt like I ate all day.
My Mom insisted on going to a cookie shop yesterday to get cookies for the boys. They had a line out the door. All they sell is cookies. I couldn't help to think (1) Doesn't anybody bake? (2) Do you really need a cookie?? We waiting 30mins for a few cookies. Crazy! Here are a few pictures of the weekend. I welcome back routine!

HAPPY SUNDAY!

I know I have not shared in a while. I been around commenting. I went out with my husband last night and hung out with friends. It was a fun night celebrating some bdays and St Patrick's Day. I had some yummy Diet Coke while others were drinking. I will update more when I get a moment. Enjoy the rest of your weekend❤
