Today is my hectic day. I am going out into the shopping world for food with the crazies. Hopefully, this is my only shopping trip over Christmas break. Last night late I got a idea to make a awesome meat/cheese tray for us and the kids for either Christmas eve after Church or Christmas Day lunch. Either way I am loving the idea!
I seem to be really struggling with my Mom's personality changes since her stroke. I feel like I am getting a lot more short with her as a result. Hopefully, I can work on that. Yesterday she brought all her Christmas gift to our house (we are having Christmas here with my brother but not until Jan3) and now I feel very overwhelmed looking at the tree. She used to love Christmas but this year it's like she could really care less. Makes me sad.
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤

Happy Monday!! Can you believe it's 3 days until Christmas!? How are you feeling? No matter if you're planning on being 100% strict this week, or indulging in some treats, focus on protein first and makes to get in a little movement each day. Go for a walk even if it's cold, or stretch indoors etc. Don't let yourself spiral for the next 10 days until Jan 1st, just take things one day at a time. Treat everyday like "Monday" and give yourself some simple/realistic goals to help you not go overboard.
What is your non-negotiable for this week?
Stole this from Facebook, not sure who original writer is, but it's very well written:
Carnivore Exposes Emotional Eating.
Then It Frees You From It.
Most people don’t miss carbs.
They miss what carbs were doing for them.
Dopamine.
Comfort.
Distraction.
Sedation.
When you remove sugar and hyper-palatable food, you don’t just change metabolism — you remove anesthesia.
At first, that feels brutal.
Boredom shows up.
Restlessness.
Loneliness.
Emotions you never had to sit with before.
Grief you never processed.
And many people quit right there and say: “This diet stopped working.”
“I need balance.”
“My body needs variety"
But here’s what happens if you stay.
Carnivore lowers stress hormones.
It stabilizes blood sugar.
Cravings quiet.
The nervous system stops screaming.
Food slowly loses its emotional grip.
You don’t need to white-knuckle it forever.
You don’t stay obsessed.
What once felt like deprivation turns into detachment.
Not because you forced control —
but because your body no longer needs ...
Okay I am stuck at 125 no matter if I track or don't track whether I cut out dairy or add dairy. What are my next steps? When I started carnivore I lost weight and was stuck at 118 which is where I would like to be at now. My goal is to 115. I lift weights or workout everyday been doing pilates which I am loving! I get 5,000-8,000 steps in from just walking at school.
