The Devil was out to get me yesterday but didn't win! It was our last day at school and I was asked to eat ice cream, vanilla cake, and asked to buy donuts from a fundraiser. I used my soy allergy as a excuse. Friday is my daughter's 8th birthday. She has requested "meat crust pizza" and a ice cream cake. She is having a cousin sleep over so although I will make it she doesn't get it a lot and she is sharing with her cousins. Gotta put some joy into living for the little girl sleepover. I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving tomorrow in the U.S.
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤

Happy Wednesday! Tomorrow in the United States is Thanksgiving, I hope you are feeling no stress and excited to spend the day with friends and family. But I know that's not always the case around the holidays. I do know, that having a plan and going into the day mentally prepared for how you will handle each situation will help so much.
So let's put it in writing today to help hold you accountable. No judgement on what you eat, even if it's normal food. Having a specific plan can help you stay on track and prevent derailing you for an unplanned amount of time.
Are you feeling calm or frantic today? What is your plan for tomorrow?
Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
The meal is prepped as far as I can tonight. Table is set. House is cleaned (except for the final bathroom swipe.) Craft table is ready
AND those yummy Cattle are home. Farmer looked at the forecast and decided today was the best day. The men came home early and I rearranged my food prep to allow a 2-3 hour delay.
We got them home almost without incident. There is always one who is stupid. Thank goodness for our neighbor & his friend and they had 4-wheelers too. I was basically there for backup.
I'm very tired, so I'm heading to my chair to rest. Early bedtime because I'll need to get up early to start the meats. Sweet Dreams!

I haven’t been posting here lately but want to share I’m doing well. Being off work, I went to the gym and walked my dogs every day this week, and ate well -but still need to bump up the protein.
As I wrote in Laura’s post today,
THIS WILL BE MY FIRST THANKSGIVING I DO NOT GIVE INTO THE CARBS. I can do this!
It’s so hard. I remember last year I tried but gave in and then overate and felt so sick and slept like crap. I love feeling good. Food is nourishment, I’m there for my family, not the food.
I don’t like turkey but will just keep eating that when temptation hits. Turkey or nothing… that’s my choice. Also, dinner is at 6. I never eat that late so my body probably won’t be that hungry.
