Chris and I have very much enjoyed the last few days away connecting with the 2 of us. Now we are ready to get back home to the kiddos (and my Mom). How has your week been going?
Let's share some meal ideas, what are you eating today?
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤

My accountability from yesterday: I am going to make it quick and I thought about not saying anything but I am here telling it like it is. I did not have a good day eating yesterday. I let my emotions get the better of me. The end.
My accountability for today: Much better today. About 2:00pm, I had 3 leftover ribs. For supper I had a couple of hot dogs and scrambled eggs which satisfied me. Did a little light yardwork. The last 3 days we have had our windows replaced. They take out the old patio door so the the house is open. I am cold and have a blanket around me. After how long of having the patio door out, the patio door they were trying to put in was someone else's door!!!! They had to put the old door back in. We'll have to see what the next steps are. Don't know if they can find where our door ended up or have a new one made.
Accountability
1. Iced coffee black
2. 2 burger patties, 3 eggs scrambled in 2 T butter with 2 T Parmesan cheese
3. Iced coffee with 2 teaspoons cream, pork belly
Notes: crazy weather, unbelievable wind gusts up to 50 mph, scary in a camper. Laundry & grocery day. Sleep much better, some pain (too much baked cheese yesterday?). Several short walks done with pups.
The scale went up 5 lbs from my little hiatus but down 2 from yesterday. I track my muscle mass and fat % too. My visceral fat went down another point for a day a couple weeks ago then up again and hope to get it back down. I track my foods and fat/protein ratio and see what the scale does- muscle and fat numbers.
Again, still carnivore today but too much HWC (in coffee) and cheese but I’m giving myself some grace there.
I think I will allow myself the 2 coffees for now because my school is soooo hard right now with behaviors and the lunch coffee brings my joy- morning class finished but need to get through the afternoon class. 😁
@Lauraespath I listened to your interview with your Pastor and the message on Gluttony. I definitely use food with emotions and put thoughts of food over other things in my life- too much focus on what, when, where I’m going to eat next. It was very convicting and made me think. Thank you for sharing.
