Today we picked up our puppy! His name is David (Dave, Davey). His name circles back to our first dog Goliath (then we had Samson, then Delilah) and David and Delilah sound cute together. I think I mentioned that he is Delilah’s actual 1/2 brother- same mom different dad. She’s getting used to him- he keeps trying to nurse her. 🤣
I’m tired so will go to bed soon. Here’s a few pictures.

Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.

What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?

Sunday, Aug 31st

Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.

For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...

Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.

Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤

*Sorry I had this set to go live at 7pm instead of 7am.

Happy Monday!! I hope you had an amazing weekend. How are you feeling today? We had a really fun weekend, the kids did a ropes course/zipline yesterday, that type of thing is right in Penelope's wheel house but VERY out of Nathaniel's comfort zone. I am so proud that he got up there and did the entire course all the way through, it was a pretty big thing for him! Penelope is counting down the days till she is 12 and can do the adult courses. 😂 This checked off another item on our Northern Arizona Family Bucket List.

*Reminder I will be doing a Livestream this week tomorrow (Tuesday) at 7pm EST. Hope you can come hang out and catch up. I'll be doing a giveaway as well so check the morning post tomorrow to enter the Giveaway.

What is your non-negotiable goal for this week?

Sunday, Sept 7th

Happy Sunday! We got some eggs at a locals farmers market yesterday, the kids were shocked to see some green eggs! 😂 We are headed to a ropes course today, spending lots of time outside, and we'll go for a long family walk too.

Lunch today is our family's favorite meal, "tacos". We'll make carne asada out of skirt steak and chicken (we forgot the shrimp), and make some taco bowls. I will probably even make a few cheese shells. We got some fresh salsa at the farmers market yesterday that Nathaniel is excited to have with his tacos.

What are you eating today?

I'm planning on a good eggy breakfast, a bacon burger for lunch and hoping to find some clean jerky there too. We'll come home with tons of swag, but that's half the fun. Stay tuned for photos.
And I'm hoping for a lunch date on Thursday.
I'm off to read now. and then bed. Praying for everyone's week ahead!
