Happy Saturday! Today is a whirlwind day as we prep to leave tomorrow, Penelope is at church camp and the rest of us are packing/cleaning. I love coming home from a trip to a clean house. I filmed a video yesterday about some lab work you should check, I will get that edited today also.
Overall my blood work appt was pretty "meh", not a lot of changes since I first started seeing her about a year ago. Nothing major going on but still just some hormone levels that are low and my thyroid is all lower than 'optimal'. Mind you it's all "within normal range" but definitely not where I want them to be. My naturopath is wondering if there is an underlying chronic infection (like Lyme, CIRS, etc), those can be pretty common for people who feel best on Carnivore long term. Something we will likely test for in the a couple weeks. I'll keep you posted and I can go into more detail when we Livestream next.
What are your plans for the weekend?
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Happy Wednesday! Things are still going well here in Madrid. Thankfully I have been sleeping great and getting lots of walks in. Tonight is dinner at our family's favorite restaurant here, I got a reservation back in July, before I even booked my flight for this trip. It's a Uruguayan restaurant that serves amazing steaks and they have friend cheese as an appetizer. They even bring you a cup of warm beef broth to start your meal. It's the perfect carnivore restaurant. The weather here has been perfect which makes long walks even better. I have a couple more days here and travel home Friday.
How is your week going? Is it feeling like fall where you live? Have you been able to be outside this week getting some fresh air?
Hello, this is my first post. I’m 65 retired, living with my husband and 2 dogs in our camper. We sold our house and have been traveling the U.S. since January. Currently in New Mexico and loving every minute of this life! I started keto in January and carnivore in march. I’ve gotten off all of my rheumatoid arthritis meds and my joints feel great. I don’t have a scale so no idea how much weight I’ve lost but I feel smaller, lol. I was over 300 pounds and unable to walk more than a few steps this time last year due to autoimmune diseases and inactivity. I am walking better now too and trying my best to be more active. Joined for accountability and friendship so I can make it through the upcoming holidays which are with family and always my weakness. Wishing everyone the best!
