Happy Wednesday!! I am back to work today after a nice long weekend with the family. Apologies if I have missed some messages the last couple of days. In addition to being off work, my phone has been not working properly so I had to get them to ship me a replacement. I had to spend most of yesterday evening after my livestream getting the new one all set up.
I can't believe it but we are in the final couple days of July already! Most of you know we like to do some reflection at the end of every month before we start setting some goals for the new month.
First thing I like to focus on is 'what went well'. What was something that went well for you this month? What was your biggest win in July?
For me, I am proud that I have continued to stick with movement for the whole month of July. 💪🏼
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤

Thinking about the year ahead can be overwhelming when it comes to goal setting. For some people, like me, short term goals can be much more motivating. Right now it's beast mode through the Meetup this Saturday. That said, I do still have long term goals for the year. Staying carnivore is just a given now as it's my life already so I have to dive a little deeper for me. I'd like to stay in the same weight range but lower my body fat a bit. Gain some muscle mass in short. Gym at least 4 times a week and beast mode at the same time is my recipe.
Steak video for interest. 🤪
Do you do better with short or long term goals?
So sorry guys, my 2 1/2 hour drive home from the cabin is turning into a 5+ hour drive home so I am not going to make it in time to Livestream tonight. I'll post the link for the Dr Berry Livestream for tomorrow when I know it. I'll catch up on posts here when I get home if you have any questions.
Last Day of July!! 🎉🎉 Today is the day we reflect on where we got stuck this month, and lessons learned from that.
I have an appointment with my naturopath today, I want to get some updated bloodwork done. My cycle has been a bit wonky the last couple months. I swear my body just wants to weigh more than I want it to. 🤦🏼♀️ Anytime I go "beast mode" and really focus on weight loss my hormones tend to get a little off. Now that I have this naturopath to work with I want to do some blood work to be proactive and see if that's happening. Even as long as I have been doing this it often seems like I take 2 steps forward and one step back. But as I continue to focus on being more active it's a good reminder that I need to give my body some extra fuel.
Is there anywhere you are currently feeling stuck? Or any setbacks you learned in July, and what are you going to do differently because of that?
I hid my scale for July. It was very freeing not looking at a number everyday and letting it dictate my mood. I had planned to keep up with my strength training, but slacked a bit more than I had wanted. I also ate what I would call more "ketovore" due to the fact that I am adding in some vegetables. Regardless, I am down 2 pounds and 1-3/4 inches. I am starting a challenge tomorrow that will push my exercise up and I am going to be more diligent about food tracking, fasting...etc. My birthday is in October and I would like to be in a comfortable size 12. This was my size prior to my first child being born in 1989 😄. I am not going by a target weight because building muscle changes that plus I have extra skin. I have logged my weight anyway as well as my measurements and am ready !
Alright @kayficken I'm ready over here! I splurged on some extra special fishies for our 3-day sardine challenge!
We decided last night to include coffee and eggs (as needed) for satiety. I burn easily 2,400 calories per day when I work and I'm not currently trying to lose weight, so I'm including eggs FOR SURE! I've got some tuna, salmon, mackerel, sardines, herring, cod livers, and shrimp on standby. Heck! I might not even need the eggs with all of that juicy, fatty fish!
Anyone joining us? Feel free to jump in with one meal of fish or one day of just fish, it doesn't need to be for the entire three days. We're happy to have your support.
