Happy Monday!! How was your weekend? We are officially halfway through June, how have things been going so far? What's the best thing to happen this month so far? Any adjustments you need to make for the rest of the month?
It's not too late to reset if needed and finish the month strong! What is your non-negotiable for the week?
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Happy Sunday! I am headed to the airport early this morning, sad to not be in church with my family today. After everything that's happened over the last week I know it will be a powerful Sunday morning. I am planning to fast today since I will be traveling for a lot of the day, and no work obligations until tomorrow. Do you have any plans to fast this week?
I hope you are able to reset and restore yourself today, and get prepared for the week ahead, surrounded by those you love!
Have a blessed day. ❤️
Hello all! I am finally back and ready to participate. Had a fantastic vacation to Yellowstone and spent seven glorious nights sleeping in a tent with just my hubby! I love the outdoors and was able to enjoy so many wonderful things, most of all just relaxing and being away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Bonus! I actually lost almost 5lbs. while on vacation. We packed most of our food we ate for the entire week and only ate out x2 the entire week. Also, since we were camping in bear country, we had to pack up all our food and keep it in our truck at night, so once dinner was done we just put all the food away, and that was it, no snacking or muching after dinner. Just ate all carnivore, except for a few pickles. It was simple and worked great.
Interesting tidbit from our time in Yellowstone. They talked about how a years ago (before bear proof garbages) bear scavenged through the garbage dumpsters looking for processed human foods. This was increasing the number of bears ...
Happy quiet Sunday Family!
First and most importantly, after this past week, we need to draw near to our Lord and Savior Jesus. That is the Only thing that matters. Not the nation, not the government, not the latest agenda. Only our relationship with God. I pray that everyone here, knows Jesus in a personal way, but if you don't or have questions, please reach out to me or to anyone here who has shared their faith.
I was not online much yesterday. Partly because we are still sick. This is some bad congestion/cough stuff. Now Farmer is down with it.
But on a more happy note, I was also out because it was our 45th wedding anniversary!! We didn't get to celebrate quite as excitingly as we hoped, due to feeling cruddy. But we did spend the day together and we did go out to eat last night. (No fevers, and we were sat in a corner booth, so hopefully didn't contaminate anyone else.)
Today we are home from church and resting a lot. As soon as I finish my protein shake, I'll be fasting for the ...
