Happy Tuesday!! Thanks to everyone that hung out on the Livestream last night. I went on a rant about this new trend "The Sugar Diet", we talked about building muscle vs losing weight, and how to stay on track long term. And Congratulations to @Reene-not-Renee for winning the giveaway!
I have a follow-up appointment with my surgeon today, I am 12 weeks post-op from my arm and back skin removal. I'm also going to the dentist, which is my least favorite thing to do ever. I'm seeing a new dentist today which is giving me all kinds of extra anxiety!! I had so many years of teeth pain and mouth trauma before carnivore that I still just have so much anxiety about going to the dentist.
How do you feel about going to the dentist? Have you noticed your overall mouth and dental health improve eating this way?
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤

Thinking about the year ahead can be overwhelming when it comes to goal setting. For some people, like me, short term goals can be much more motivating. Right now it's beast mode through the Meetup this Saturday. That said, I do still have long term goals for the year. Staying carnivore is just a given now as it's my life already so I have to dive a little deeper for me. I'd like to stay in the same weight range but lower my body fat a bit. Gain some muscle mass in short. Gym at least 4 times a week and beast mode at the same time is my recipe.
Steak video for interest. 🤪
Do you do better with short or long term goals?
So sorry guys, my 2 1/2 hour drive home from the cabin is turning into a 5+ hour drive home so I am not going to make it in time to Livestream tonight. I'll post the link for the Dr Berry Livestream for tomorrow when I know it. I'll catch up on posts here when I get home if you have any questions.
Happy Tuesday! Last night the Carnivore course that Dr Westman created ended and I did a Livestream with that group. This ended their 2 week Carnivore Challenge, one of the things I did was warn them about 'rewarding themselves' with food since the official challenge was over. Or telling themselves "I made it through the 2 weeks, now I deserve a treat." The times for me that have been the most tempting are the times right AFTER I make it through something really hard. For example I stay strict all through vacation but immediately after my brain starts saying "you did great, you deserve a treat." But I know those treats would just cause me to spiral and I would struggle to get back on track again.
It makes for a mindset shift, because giving ourselves "rewards" can be very motivating, but we have to reframe it so that those rewards aren't foods that will get us off track. What do you use to reward yourself? Or do you not think that way at all for your personal motivation?
Equip is having their Pre-Labor Day Sale. BOGO 40% off, and you can use my code again even if you've already used it. The sale lasts through Friday.
Use the link below if you need to stock up on anything. This is the protein my Mom drinks everyday. We use it to make pancakes for the kids and I make some protein ice cream for them also.

I have two fun restaurant stories. Since carnivore we do not eat out often because I feel that it is too much of a mission and prefer my home cooked meats.
Last week was my baby’s 21st birthday so we went out to a very nice restaurant. I ordered the 400g Ribeye steak. No basting and no spices; salt only I requested. The waiter looked confused and repeated my order and I confirmed. Then he wanted to know what side dish will be. I ordered the Jacket Potato with sour cream and butter but without the potato. Now this man was even more confused. He asked me twice, no potato? And I replied twice, no potato. Only the sour cream and butter 😂
Today I ended at a McDonald’s. Placed an order at the self help order desk: 5 patties and 4 slices of cheese; no bun, no garnish, no sauce. Black coffee, no sugar. Soon I could hear the conversations in the kitchen… no bun? Same question on repeat. Next moment someone wanted to know if I made a mistake when I placed my order? Asking if I am sure ...
