Wednesday, September 3rd

Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.

What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?

Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.

For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...

Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.

Friday, January 2nd

Happy Friday!! How was your Day 1? We did some meal prep yesterday, I made a big batch of meatballs, we had some for lunch today with some chicken salad but most are going in the freezer for future meals. We also got 2 big Ribeye primals that were in sale and a pork loin I'll cut into steaks and chops today and freeze.

Have you been doing any meal prep this week, or grocery stock ups? What are you eating today?

Yesterday was the last day of us just winging it and the food was definitely not on track. I was so happy to toss it all out!! We both agreed we don't like it anymore and feel best with just eating beef. I already knew that but it was a huge advance for DH to admit he doesn't like those foods anymore. Taste buds and cravings do change.
So today will be the start of BBES.
I may just fast today. Or start a longer one tomorrow, I haven't decided.
I won't report yesterday's junk but will say we did exercise in the forms of chores x2, a short walk and rebounding. I slept in but got sucked into the Sugar Bowl game so ended staying up too late. Good thing it's Friday.

Good morning! Yesterday I stayed carnivore (2 meals, burger patties and leftover chuck and steak) and went for a 45 min walk outside in the cold and I feel so good today. I’m down 2 lbs- water weight I’m sure- and my visceral fat even went down after it popped up yesterday. I really love my smart scale- I don’t let the weight get to me when I see other numbers are either improving or are just good. For example, my bone density is excellent so if the scale goes up, I see that at least my bones are still good and move on. Or maybe my muscle mass went up, not the fat %.

I heard that it takes 3 weeks for the first round of sugar addiction bugs in your gut to die off and cravings will diminish along with a burst of feeling better- here’s to day 2 of killing them off for good!
