I had another good night's sleep. Starting tomorrow, I will have to adjust to getting up earlier for work, but at least I'm feeling rested to start the week. I ended up walking about 10 miles yesterday. My coworker and her husband didn't fly out until midday, so we walked all over Madrid, showing them all the major tourist spots. My coworker has an Apple watch, and when they left for the airport, we had walked 6 miles. I took a little break and then went out walking (and shopping) for another few hours in the afternoon. I mapped it out, and I think I had about another 4+ miles.
My plan for today is just to be outside, walk, enjoy the beautiful weather, and at some point have a delicious steak. What are your plans for today?
I am going to do a Livestream MONDAY. It will be evening for me here in Spain (8 pm), but that will make it 2 pm EST. I know not everyone will be able to join since it's midday on a Monday, but maybe some people can eat lunch and hang out while we chat. If you have anything specific you want me to talk about let me know!
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Thinking about the year ahead can be overwhelming when it comes to goal setting. For some people, like me, short term goals can be much more motivating. Right now it's beast mode through the Meetup this Saturday. That said, I do still have long term goals for the year. Staying carnivore is just a given now as it's my life already so I have to dive a little deeper for me. I'd like to stay in the same weight range but lower my body fat a bit. Gain some muscle mass in short. Gym at least 4 times a week and beast mode at the same time is my recipe.
Steak video for interest. 🤪
Do you do better with short or long term goals?
So sorry guys, my 2 1/2 hour drive home from the cabin is turning into a 5+ hour drive home so I am not going to make it in time to Livestream tonight. I'll post the link for the Dr Berry Livestream for tomorrow when I know it. I'll catch up on posts here when I get home if you have any questions.
I often see on social media folks doing carnivore complaining about this issue or that issue not being resolved, therefore it doesn't work. Similarly I see people say I have condition x, so I can't do carnivore. One thing we all need to remember is that diet, carnivore in this case, doesn't fix everything. Diet may fix or improve internal systems after years of abuse, and nourish our bodies so that we can live our best, but sometimes something is just broken or unrelated to diet all together. It cleared up almost every issue I've had there are a few little things still. there. I did a lot of damage over the years and fear they may still bite me someday but I'm confident it won't be because how I eat now.
Conversely I don't think it will make other conditions worse (aside from a miniscule amount of rare meat allergies). How can a species appropriate diet (sure we are other things here and there but this was baseline) be bad, under any circumstances?
What do you think? Are you self ...
Happy Tuesday! It was fun to hang out on the Livestream last night, lots of good conversation, you all always leave me feeling inspired!! I have a long day of training today and then headed to our families favorite steak restaurant tonight for dinner. I managed to sneak in a reservation for 1 on this trip, normally they are booked out for months.
Does it feel awkward for you to have dinner in a restaurant alone? I don't mind it, I am pretty used to it after traveling often for all these years. I have a non-negotiable rule for myself to not eat in a hotel room when I travel. I used to have some pretty terrible food behaviors when I traveled alone, and that ability for secrecy really triggered me for a while. I find that simply setting my non-negotiable of "no food in my hotel room" automatically removes a lot of that temptation, and it makes me really ask myself "are you hungry enough to go out and find food". I talked about this last night on the stream but I really don't have ...
Happy Tuesday Evening All.
Just got home from a rousing program all about camping and nature by K-2nd grades. We have one boy who is too cool, one almost 7yo (tomorrow) who is very focused on what she is doing at all times and one Kindergarten social butterfly. They all were so cute and did a great job.
After hugs and kisses, we stopped off at our local Mexican place for a steak and eggs (little cheese and sour cream). I ended my fast earlier with avo-kraut and 2 beef sticks. 43 hours.
I was going to do another 42-48 hour fast but I'm wondering if my protein is too low to sustain this? My last week's stats were:
Protein: 73g daily
Fat: 72g daily
Cal: 1035
Carbs: 14.4g
Carbs too high and protein too low I feel. So I'm trying to add protein the rest of the week. I've cut out most dairy except for the cream in my coffee and the small amounts of cheese on a burger.
I'll be weighing in this weekend and then again in 2 weeks. I dread it but yet a month is too long and I feel out of control waiting...
