Accountability post: My non negotiable for September was to post my macros every day and I made it. 🙂. By tracking macros, I learned a lot. For instance, todays macro show 22 carbs but they are from protein powder and dairy. Time to fine tune what I eat. On to October!
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Happy Saturday!! The livestream on YouTube went well last night, after the first 2 mins when the audio didn't work 🤦🏼♀️. We talked a lot about Beast Mode and breaking stalls/weight loss. It's topics we talk about here a lot but if you have someone not in this group that's been struggling with weight loss it would be a good one to share with them.
We have Nathaniels baseball game today and church tomorrow. We'll be packing this weekend for our trip and hopefully I'll get a YouTube video filmed as well. What are your plans this weekend?
Happy Saturday family.
I commented under Laura's post about a hard restart.bAnd that I wasn't in a good head space to weigh myself.
But I can do hard things, so I weighed in. 😱🫣😞🙄😤🥺🤐
All the negative emojis!!
I prepped myself for what I thought the number would be and it was definitely that and then some. *Big sigh"
So, now I will pick myself up again and am really going hard-core. I fired up the tracker. I was encouraged at first that I would be at goal weight by May until I realized that was the old number.
The new number is 25# more. So I'm hoping to be there by my bday in July.
For now it's on day at a time.
Today's goal: only 2tsp of HWC in coffee
>20 grams of carbs
And whatever the calorie number is, which I can not remember.
Pray for me. It's going to be a tough few first days.
Vacation update - we’re over the 1/2 way point of our time in FL. Feeling so healthy in a warmer climate being more active and having fresh local fish. Having a crockpot has been so helpful in meal prep so I don’t need to cook every day. My GI system got out of whack so I’ve had some low starch veg, and fruit to get things moving. I decided not to be hard on myself as I’ve made better choices, and “not as bad” choices compared to last year on vacation when we were eating a lot of starchy carbs. Win: I made it out of Trader Joe’s without buying sweets! So I’ve been low carb, and will gradually get back to keto then carnivore.
My lab work (includes fasting insulin!) appointment is in late April before my physical so that is definitely on the front of my mind. Although I’ve been prediabetic for about 15 years regardless of what I’ve done, I’d like my numbers to be within normal limits.
