Happy Monday!! How was your weekend? How are you feeling this Monday morning?
I am going to embrace our routine this week and get more strict. Things have been more loose for me with us being here in Spain and especially over the last week with my Mom here and us traveling to Portugal so I am setting some tough goals for myself this week to get me back to baseline of feeling my best.
My goals for this week:
-I am going to focus on One Meal a Day just for this week, I have been snacking/grazing too much. I am not ready for a 48 hour fast this week but doing one meal for a week will help me flex that fasting muscle and break my snacking habit. (and help balance my weight). I can't do one meal a day long term but since I haven't been undereating at all then doing one meal for a week will be a good balance for where I am right now.
-No cheese (after our dinner out tonight), we have reservations tonight at a steakhouse with that provolone cheese I love so I'm going to enjoy that but then the rest of the week I am going to have NO CHEESE!
-No scrolling in bed at night (go to bed earlier), since it's still mid-day in the US when it's late here I have been getting staying up too late trying to get caught up on everything online so I need to cut myself off earlier and focus on getting more sleep.
Non-Negotiable for the week: Just Stay Carnivore! I'm going to work really hard on the goals I mentioned above but if something goes wrong, or I'm extra hungry and eat a second meal, I'll just focus on staying Carnivore and just keep moving forward!!
What are your goals for this week? What is the one non-negotiable thing you are going to focus on for this week?
*Reminder I'll be going live for Supporters on Tuesday at 11am pst/2 pm est
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Daylight Savings Time is starting on tomorrow in the USA, that means every state, except Arizona, will change their clocks forward one hour tonight. That also means everyone gets one less hour of sleep tonight. Research shows it can take your body a whole week to fully adapt to that one hour time difference.
Even though Arizona doesn't change our clocks, my job is headquarters out of Texas so everyone works on Central time. So with Daylight savings time I now have to start my day an hour earlier every day. So I have meetings daily now at 630 and 7am. 😭😭 I am very much dreading this as I already go to bed pretty early (and we all know I need a lot of sleep!).
How are you feeling about the time change? Does it affect your life/schedule at all? What are some things you do to help reset your circadian rhythm?
Happy Friday! Thanks to everyone that hung out on the Livestream last night. If you need to hear a good motivational rant from me check out the replay. 😂😂 The next Livestream here in Locals will be Monday at 7pm EST/4pm PST. I know Mondays are better for more people, and since most of my travel is slowing down we can do Mondays for a bit again.
That being said, I am headed out on a quick 24 hour trip today. 😂 Then the rest of the weekend we will just hang out with my Mom before she flys home Monday.
What are your plans this weekend? Any temptations ahead you are worried about?
