Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Did everything go according to plan? If not, remember today is a new day, you don't need to do anything to "make up for" getting off plan this weekend, you just need to move forward and make today a great day!
That's the cycle we have to learn to break, the extreme mindset of "failure" when we achieve anything other than perfection. Consistency needs to be our goal over everything else, because that is what gets you long term habits and health. Don't let one decision (or day) derail you for months out of shame. Why is it that we are so hard on ourselves when we can't achieve perfection but we would NEVER talk to a friend or family member with those same expectations!? We need to start treating ourselves as though we were encouraging a friend who was struggling!
This week just focus on one simple non-negotiable thing that will help you reach our health goals! My focus for this week is "no snacking". No matter what I am just going to wait till the next meal, there is no reason I need a snack. What is your non-negotiable for this week?
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤

Happy Monday! We are in the final days of 2025!! Do you spend any time at the end of each year reflecting on the previous year? Rather than reflect on December let's think back to 2025 as a whole!
What have been your highs for 2025? Biggest wins? Most special moments of the year? Let's finish 2025 by celebrating wins with each other!!
Alright guys, I fell off the wagon during Christmas. It’s insane how quickly my depression comes back, like a dormant little demon just waiting to be awaken. Brushing myself off and getting back on track. I could sit and dwell and beat myself up but I’ve learned well enough over all these years that that only feeds my depression more.
I’ve been pretty good at journaling my slip ups and I’m noticing a pattern.
At least every 30-50 days I’ll hit a craving spell, wether I give in to non carnivore foods or I just go heavy on dairy or sauces it’s been pretty consistent in that 30-50 day area.
I wonder if it could be cycle or hormone related. I had a hysterectomy 8 years ago but I still have my ovaries so I still get all the fun hormonal symptoms without a cycle. I’ve always wished I wrote down my last cycle before that surgery, but at 24 with a new baby and toddler, hormone tracking was the least of my worries 😅
The week between Christmas and New Year's is always the most confusing week of the year, I keep forgetting what day it is. 😂 We spent the majority of the day outside yesterday enjoying the beautiful weather.
How are you feeling this week? Struggling to stay on track? Waiting for January 1st to reset? Have you started thinking about your January goals yet?
Here are some pictures of our lunch from yesterday.
