The message from my church on Sunday has been sticking with me this week. The pastor preached from Genesis 12:1-3 and it had a wonderful perspective about how we should look for blessings in our hardships. He spoke about how we all have ways in which we are "cursed" and deal with hardships and in those times it is often very difficult to see in what ways we are truly blessed.
Many times our first instinct is to ask "What is wrong today" or "Why am I sad today" instead of "Where am I being blessed today?"
Now that doesn't mean we have to deny the ways we are cursed or pretend that those things don't exist, but we do need to make an effort to acknowledge the ways we are blessed even with the hardships we are going through.
We have to get in the habit of seeing blessings in the midst of our obstacles. And one of the important things he shared is that we need to remember that we are blesses so that we can be a blessing for others.
"I will bless you and make your name great, SO THAT you will be a blessing."
This whole message spoke to me in several ways but it really made me think about the things I have seen in this group lately. I see people who only a few months ago were really struggling and now they are thriving, feeling more confident, and encouraging others. I am so grateful for all of you and how encouraging of a place this has become, it's been a huge blessing to me and I hope it is for you as well.
Also if you are currently struggling try to focus on the blessings you do have, and think about the ways you do have the ability to be a blessing to others.
If you want to listen to the whole message I will link the recording below, but today I encourage you to think about the ways in your life you are blessed, and how you can be a blessing to others.
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤

Thinking about the year ahead can be overwhelming when it comes to goal setting. For some people, like me, short term goals can be much more motivating. Right now it's beast mode through the Meetup this Saturday. That said, I do still have long term goals for the year. Staying carnivore is just a given now as it's my life already so I have to dive a little deeper for me. I'd like to stay in the same weight range but lower my body fat a bit. Gain some muscle mass in short. Gym at least 4 times a week and beast mode at the same time is my recipe.
Steak video for interest. 🤪
Do you do better with short or long term goals?
So sorry guys, my 2 1/2 hour drive home from the cabin is turning into a 5+ hour drive home so I am not going to make it in time to Livestream tonight. I'll post the link for the Dr Berry Livestream for tomorrow when I know it. I'll catch up on posts here when I get home if you have any questions.
Happy Tuesday!! So fun to hang out on the 2 different streams yesterday!!
One of the things that we talked about last night here in Locals was the dopamine and excitement that is created when you are looking forward to something (vacation, event, etc). It's one of the things that always keeps me motivated, having some specific event to work towards. That's why I did so well for the first few months of the year, I had several different conferences and events to keep me dialed in.
I realized in talking last night that's maybe why I've been struggling the last couple months. Yes travel makes things hard but when I am super focused that isn't an issue at all. Once all those big events I had been so hyper focused on ended I took a deep breath and "relaxed". And usually I come up with another event to motivate me but this time I didn't have anything specific to retain my focus.
I have been really proud of myself the last 2 days, but this was my reminder that I'm order to help keep ...

I only had one meal today. I went to a lunch/birthday at Santana's Mexican restaurant. I had the Santana fajitas
Beef, chicken, shrimp, and chorizo with sour cream and guacamole. I didn't eat the shells, beans, or rice. I took off most of the peppers and onions. I ate one of the grilled pineapple rings. I had a little salsa but no chips (that was tough), lol I don't know what the calories or macros are. I had a great time and enjoyed seeing everyone 😊
Hi everyone, it is good to be here today. I was able to walk downtown for some exercise this morning. I feel I could take a nap. I think my body is still adjusting to the new life. I am doing so much better than I could have imagined. I am amazed at how filling meat is!! This month I am going to really keep track of how long a grocery haul lasts me. I still have not finished the meat from last month. It is still in the freezer. Although I do need to get more bacon, eggs, beef tallow and butter. Those seem to go pretty quickly. Outside of that, I am going to take a restful day. Thank you all for being there. Look for to talking with you tomorrow.
