So I completely forgot that March 12 is what I consider my "Anniversary" in getting healthy. March 12th, 2018 I started what I thought was "another diet" for probably the 100th time...but this time it actually worked!! This time I stopped rewarding myself with cheat days, this time I learned to manage my emotions without food, this time I discovered the foods that nourished me and made me feel amazing! This year March 12th officially marked 5 years since I stopped giving up on myself!!
My biggest takeaway in the last 5 years, don't worry about the "rules"...focus on choices that move you one step closer to a long-term healthy life. Learn to avoid the foods/situations that will cause you to get off track. Stop waiting for someone to give you the exact way to be successful...only you can understand that for yourself! Just start and figure it out as you go!
Some years have been better than others but I can honestly say that right now I am in the best place I have ever been...that doesn't mean I am the skinniest or the most perfect but I am the most CONSISTENT with a lifestyle that maintains my health long term.
*These Before/After pictures were both taken at the Wildlife World Zoo. The top one taken 6 years ago when Chris and I were at the absolute rock bottom of our health. The bottom picture was taken yesterday, exactly 5 years after we made the commitment to change the future of our health. There is no turning back now that we know what healthy feels like!!
Your life can completely change in the next year. Don't wait for another year, or another 1st of the month, or even another Monday! Today could be the day you look back on and remember when your life changed! Trust me if I can do it, with how broken I was, you can do it! ♥️♥️♥️
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Thinking about the year ahead can be overwhelming when it comes to goal setting. For some people, like me, short term goals can be much more motivating. Right now it's beast mode through the Meetup this Saturday. That said, I do still have long term goals for the year. Staying carnivore is just a given now as it's my life already so I have to dive a little deeper for me. I'd like to stay in the same weight range but lower my body fat a bit. Gain some muscle mass in short. Gym at least 4 times a week and beast mode at the same time is my recipe.
Steak video for interest. 🤪
Do you do better with short or long term goals?
So sorry guys, my 2 1/2 hour drive home from the cabin is turning into a 5+ hour drive home so I am not going to make it in time to Livestream tonight. I'll post the link for the Dr Berry Livestream for tomorrow when I know it. I'll catch up on posts here when I get home if you have any questions.
Happy Tuesday!! So fun to hang out on the 2 different streams yesterday!!
One of the things that we talked about last night here in Locals was the dopamine and excitement that is created when you are looking forward to something (vacation, event, etc). It's one of the things that always keeps me motivated, having some specific event to work towards. That's why I did so well for the first few months of the year, I had several different conferences and events to keep me dialed in.
I realized in talking last night that's maybe why I've been struggling the last couple months. Yes travel makes things hard but when I am super focused that isn't an issue at all. Once all those big events I had been so hyper focused on ended I took a deep breath and "relaxed". And usually I come up with another event to motivate me but this time I didn't have anything specific to retain my focus.
I have been really proud of myself the last 2 days, but this was my reminder that I'm order to help keep ...

I only had one meal today. I went to a lunch/birthday at Santana's Mexican restaurant. I had the Santana fajitas
Beef, chicken, shrimp, and chorizo with sour cream and guacamole. I didn't eat the shells, beans, or rice. I took off most of the peppers and onions. I ate one of the grilled pineapple rings. I had a little salsa but no chips (that was tough), lol I don't know what the calories or macros are. I had a great time and enjoyed seeing everyone 😊
Hi everyone, it is good to be here today. I was able to walk downtown for some exercise this morning. I feel I could take a nap. I think my body is still adjusting to the new life. I am doing so much better than I could have imagined. I am amazed at how filling meat is!! This month I am going to really keep track of how long a grocery haul lasts me. I still have not finished the meat from last month. It is still in the freezer. Although I do need to get more bacon, eggs, beef tallow and butter. Those seem to go pretty quickly. Outside of that, I am going to take a restful day. Thank you all for being there. Look for to talking with you tomorrow.
