Happy Valentine's Day to my forever love, @ChrisSpath
We met 12 years ago when I moved to Arizona for a job. Funny story, he and I were interviewing for the same position (they were only hiring one person for the supervisor role). I was an internal employee looking to move from Chicago to Arizona if I got this promotion. Chris was already in Arizona looking for a job at a new company. I am always quick to remind him they hired me over him haha but that meant I moved to Arizona. They hired Chris into a different position and promoted him about 6 months later at which time we became peers.
We were peers/coworkers for about 2 years and became great friends. Once we started dating things moved quickly and we were pregnant with Penelope and married about 6 months later. Maybe not God's timing but He has used that anyway and we have been blessed with a wonderful relationship.
No gift exchanges for us today, Chris spoils me everyday so on Holidays we keep things pretty low key. What are your plans today? Tell me about your love story today. How did you meet your spouse? If you are not married tell me about your best friend in your life! I hope you feel love today regardless!
*I am posting early access to a YouTube video later today that Chris and I made together.
**The picture on the left was us pre-kids before we got married.
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Thinking about the year ahead can be overwhelming when it comes to goal setting. For some people, like me, short term goals can be much more motivating. Right now it's beast mode through the Meetup this Saturday. That said, I do still have long term goals for the year. Staying carnivore is just a given now as it's my life already so I have to dive a little deeper for me. I'd like to stay in the same weight range but lower my body fat a bit. Gain some muscle mass in short. Gym at least 4 times a week and beast mode at the same time is my recipe.
Steak video for interest. 🤪
Do you do better with short or long term goals?
So sorry guys, my 2 1/2 hour drive home from the cabin is turning into a 5+ hour drive home so I am not going to make it in time to Livestream tonight. I'll post the link for the Dr Berry Livestream for tomorrow when I know it. I'll catch up on posts here when I get home if you have any questions.
Happy Tuesday!! So fun to hang out on the 2 different streams yesterday!!
One of the things that we talked about last night here in Locals was the dopamine and excitement that is created when you are looking forward to something (vacation, event, etc). It's one of the things that always keeps me motivated, having some specific event to work towards. That's why I did so well for the first few months of the year, I had several different conferences and events to keep me dialed in.
I realized in talking last night that's maybe why I've been struggling the last couple months. Yes travel makes things hard but when I am super focused that isn't an issue at all. Once all those big events I had been so hyper focused on ended I took a deep breath and "relaxed". And usually I come up with another event to motivate me but this time I didn't have anything specific to retain my focus.
I have been really proud of myself the last 2 days, but this was my reminder that I'm order to help keep ...
June3
I only had one meal today. I went to a lunch/birthday at Santana's Mexican restaurant. I had the Santana fajitas
Beef, chicken, shrimp, and chorizo with sour cream and guacamole. I didn't eat the shells, beans, or rice. I took off most of the peppers and onions. I ate one of the grilled pineapple rings. I had a little salsa but no chips (that was tough), lol I don't know what the calories or macros are. I had a great time and enjoyed seeing everyone 😊
I am struggling with my stretching goals (hard in am but rocking pm) and think I might add coffee in and start next month or at least when summer school is over.
We are understaffed for the number and behaviors of the kiddos we have. The teacher has never worked with early childhood- much less special needs early childhood. She’s doing ok with our help but I am exhausted and have been taking a nap after school (home by 12:30). But I have things to do! I will be away most of July and first 10 days of August and have projects I want to do now and need the energy.
Still Lion though!!!
