Today is the Monday-est Monday I have had in a while. The weekend seemed to fly by and I am definitely not feeling ready to start a new work week. I am kind of in a funk with food and in a mood where I am feeling sorry for myself that I can't "be normal" when it comes to food.
I say all this not to depress you or de-motivate you, just to hopefully share that if you aren't feeling super excited to "stay on track" all the time it's very normal. Often times on social media all we we see is happy smiling faces and beautiful plates of meat, (that's what I normally show too)! But it doesn't mean that I don't still have days where I just want to pout that I can't have dessert occasionally without having it cause me to spiral for a weeks.
Before, feeling sorry for myself might have caused me to get off track by looking for something to make me feel better in the moment. Now I just take things one day at a time...one meal at a time. Thankfully I am not traveling this week and I have Chris to encourage me. I am very much looking forward to an evening of all my favorite things that help me feel focused (sauna, tanning, running errands, while listening to podcasts). I haven't had an evening like that since before surgery (2 months) and I know it will help me get my mind in a better place.
I have also given myself some very short term milestones and goals this week to help me create lots of wins that will build some positive momentum.
It's okay to be grumpy for a day and feel sorry for yourself, just don't let it turn into something that gets out of control. Acknowledge it and take lots of small steps to get your mind right.
How are you feeling this Monday?
**I'll be doing a livestream Tuesday night at 8pm est (5pm pst).
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Tuesday accountability:
Walked a mile today. HUGE victory. I have been stubbornly resistant to doing that, so yay!
Attaching macros. Logging for now while I get going again.way too much cheese for a normal day but once in a while is OK. Also drank 3/4 gallon of pure water. Also a victory. Had Pepsi Zero as a treat. And (drumroll) I watched the Livestream as it happened!!! I usually watch on replay but I finally made it in real time. Yay me, haha!
So... im super tired. Probably carb withdrawal. Gonna try for early bedtime tonight.
Have a restful night. 😊
Sorry I missed the Live. We had a financial appt & chiro appt after work and then had to get hay and bedding for the cattle before this weekend's blast. By the time I got in it was too late.
Today was all day in front of the computer, being cold, despite the heater right on me.
Tomorrow we'll be taking calves to the sale barn after work. Not sure what dinner will be but hopefully I won't have to cook. 😁
Accountability

Sweet Dreams
I completely forgot about the live tonight. My husband and I are prepping for the winter weather we're supposed to get in Arkansas this weekend. We have never been bread and milk people(which is a running joke in Arkansas). People run to the grocery stores and wipe out the bread aisle and the milk. It's crazy. We call them milk sammies. So pray for Arkansas they're saying we will get a minimum of 6 inches where we live. I'm more concerned about our Mom's losing power. Especially my Mom because she's on oxygen full time.
