Today is the first (non-holiday) Monday of the new year. Did you know that today is considered one of the most depressing days of the year!? Are you feeling the winter blues?
You might be in the groove making healthy choices and seeing results already this year. Or you might already be feeling defeated feeling like you already blew it. Either way today is a new day!!! You have a fresh opportunity to make decisions today that will have you feeling great!
What is the one Non-negotiable thing you are focusing on this week??
I am going LIVE tonight at 8pm est (5pm pst). I will announce the winner of the Meater Block! (See the pork chop video to enter that Giveaway).
Remember there are so many things in your life you cannot control, but what you can control is your reaction to them. Hope you have an AMAZING week!!
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Happy Friday! It's so good to be home. ❤️❤️ I had a great work trip, very productive and a great time. Our CSO even surprised the group and showed up for one of our dinners. He announced to everyone over dinner I was getting promoted. Nothing really changes in my day to day job, I am just finally getting the title I should have had for a while! 🤪😂
I walked A LOT this week so I gave myself a bit of a rest day traveling home yesterday. I am looking forward to eating at home for a few days (unfortunately I travel again next week). I didn't get many pictures of food but I had an amazing steak at our fancy dinner, an INCREDIBLE pork tenderloin once, and then the last night we went to Chinese Hot Pot (that's where they bring all the raw meat to the table and you cook it in the boiling broth). I attached pictures too of the whole training team, we took an architectural boat tour down the Chicago River one afternoon.
How has your week been??
Good Afternoon Y'all!! Here's an update on my surgery. My hysterectomy will be postponed if my tsh number doesn't come down to between a 3.5-3.74 by Tuesday. I need a miracle because the doctors all agree I need this surgery. My gynecologist said that once I have this surgery all numbers will go back to normal. He believes the Essure birth control device that I have in my fallopian tubes is what's causing a majority of my health issues. So I'm asking if y'all believe in the power of prayer to agree with me that the numbers will be in range by Tuesday. Thanks Y'all!!
Just me and the kids all week here. They've been working hard on school projects and we've all been craving our favorite restaurant for a while now so we took a drive to Fogo De Chao for lunch (had a coupon, join their email list). We all got stuffed on all the meats.
If you've had Brazilian, what's your favorite meat? If not, what's your go to restaurant?
