Today is the first (non-holiday) Monday of the new year. Did you know that today is considered one of the most depressing days of the year!? Are you feeling the winter blues?
You might be in the groove making healthy choices and seeing results already this year. Or you might already be feeling defeated feeling like you already blew it. Either way today is a new day!!! You have a fresh opportunity to make decisions today that will have you feeling great!
What is the one Non-negotiable thing you are focusing on this week??
I am going LIVE tonight at 8pm est (5pm pst). I will announce the winner of the Meater Block! (See the pork chop video to enter that Giveaway).
Remember there are so many things in your life you cannot control, but what you can control is your reaction to them. Hope you have an AMAZING week!!
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
My Mom got us a dehydrater for Christmas. Today I am using it... hopefully it turns out lovely I am very excited. Now we wait!
Good morning! I am looking forward to getting back into my routine. I didn’t eat perfectly the past 2 days but I have done better than the past without overeating the junk and a small eating window instead of grazing at parties and staying away from the food.
Just after Christmas last year is when I went carnivore. I did really well until October when I had some emotional and physical stress. Next year I will do better!
I didn’t get a good family picture- Christmas Eve was really crazy and yesterday the time got away and I’m really bad at taking pictures.
It’s harder with my daughter moving out and my son in FL. He’s here now but she isn’t.. 🙄
We are getting together tonight and I will try to get a family picture. Here is my charcuterie tree. 😁
Good morning! My Christmas Day was lovely. My family lives in the Pacific NW and I was unable to travel there this year, but I have a standing invitation to dinner for major holidays with close friends here. So the morning was quiet and peaceful. I went for a long walk through the village, greeting people, then home to make and enjoy a carnivore dutch baby before heading off to Mass. The hostess for dinner is also carnivore (with a little keto for special occasions), and I brought a cheese ball with pork rinds. My why is strong right now, and I was perfectly satisfied with what was available and not tempted by the other high carb items.
Today, I'm making my own Christmas dinner of rib roast and shrimp, and I'm looking forward to enjoying the leftover rib roast into next week.
