A lot of times when we are focused on losing weight, improving our health, and hitting our goals we have to be very selfish (rightfully so). We often have to make ourselves at top priority for a while in order to get that momentum going. Depending on where you are in your season of life, that can be very difficult when there are so many people depending on you.

In what way can you make yourself a priority today? How can you do something important for yourself you've been putting off? Make an appt you've been delaying? Spend a few extra minutes making yourself a delicious meal? It could be as simple as going for a walk alone. Whatever it is just remember that it's okay to put yourself first, even if it's for a few mins. You can't pour from an empty cup and the healthier you are the more you can be available to support others. Have a wonderful day! You deserve it!

Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.

What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?

Sunday, Aug 31st

Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.

For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...

Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.

Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤

Thursday, Oct 2nd

Happy Thursday! How was your first day of October? I am off work today, spending time with family and hopefully doing some filming before I leave tomorrow.

We have been eating out of our freezers mainly for a while. We were finally able to combine a couple of them and defrost one yesterday. It has drawers and has some ice build up that we need to melt away. Re-organizing and restocking it today.

The bonus for all Chris's hard work is we found some lobster tails at the bottom, leftover from Christmas. So that was a fun treat for lunch today. We also found some Cornish game hens that I keep putting off making. Leaving those at the top of the freezer to make soon.

If you looked at the bottom/back of your freezer, what's the most random thing you would find?

Well… color me confused. My pants were getting too big and I kept having to pull them up in the lunch room. So I ordered 2 pairs of jeans in 24 and 1 in a 22 and a pair of black dress slacks in a 22.
1 pair of 24 jeans fit perfectly. And the dress slacks fit perfectly. The other two pairs are about an inch away from zipping. I was certain both pairs of 24 would fit 😵‍💫🤣. Anyway this is down from a 28! Scale isn’t budging and according to the scale body fat percentage is still the same 🤷🏻‍♀️ maybe it’s not accurate. Anyway I haven’t bought a 24 in over 25 years so that’s exciting!

My plan seems to be working.
B: Ground beef and bacon
D: ribs and cabbage
