Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤

Thinking about the year ahead can be overwhelming when it comes to goal setting. For some people, like me, short term goals can be much more motivating. Right now it's beast mode through the Meetup this Saturday. That said, I do still have long term goals for the year. Staying carnivore is just a given now as it's my life already so I have to dive a little deeper for me. I'd like to stay in the same weight range but lower my body fat a bit. Gain some muscle mass in short. Gym at least 4 times a week and beast mode at the same time is my recipe.
Steak video for interest. 🤪
Do you do better with short or long term goals?
So sorry guys, my 2 1/2 hour drive home from the cabin is turning into a 5+ hour drive home so I am not going to make it in time to Livestream tonight. I'll post the link for the Dr Berry Livestream for tomorrow when I know it. I'll catch up on posts here when I get home if you have any questions.
Yesterday was officially the first day of summer. We broke records here and Arizona hit 117°F this week. Thankfully things are cooling back down but this rollercoaster from 105-115°F is pretty typical for our summer. We still do lots of grilling outside though, and Chris still goes for his evening walks outside, and I still go to the sauna. 😂😂 My first summer here it was so odd to brush your teeth with warm water (the tap water just doesn't get cold in the summer). I guess you just get used to it. Thankfully we have a pool but by this time of year the water is well over 90°F so it's more like a big bath.
How are things where you live? How are you staying cool this summer? Does the heat affect your appetite?
Day 2 is done. It's going sooo fast!
We started the day off with Smoothies and bacon and leftover potato casserole (them, me coffee.)
Then into the city to shop. They are young adult ladies after all. (19, 16, 14)
We brought our hydration as it was still stupid hot out there.
Dinner was TRH. Ribeye and Caesar salad and a few blooming onion pieces.
Snack: coffee and a protein bar.
I've forgotten how exhausting shopping with teenagers can be!
We came home some to rest, one to ride the 4-wheeler, and I prepped some food for tomorrow's party.
We watched the College WS game and now some are heading to bed.
Tomorrow is the family party with extended family. Burgers, brats, hot dogs and possibly deviled eggs for me. It'll be a house-full, so if you want to pray for a break in the heat, I'd appreciate it. There will be 10 children under the age of 12. 😱 🫣 😵💫
Ok, I'm off to bed soon. Praying you all have a restful Sunday. I'm so happy I'll have my loved ones in the pew with us. 🥰
Meal accountability post. 4 burger patties with eggs and a little butter. We had a lot of visitors today with my mother-in-law so I cooked up a pork shoulder and a chuck roast for BBQ shredded pork. I can't eat pork but everyone loved the combo of the meats and the homemade BBQ sauce. (Zero added sugar). My one sister-in-law is gluten free and she loved the sauce (it's sweetened with blueberries and dates). I love how people do try to accommodate our food choices...before this never would of happened. Someone delivered a meat and cheese try along with grilled chicken. It is those little things that are so thoughtful!
