This girl rocked it today coming away with a win in her first match!! 👏👏

She went to the finals and had to complete against basically her best friend (and the best girl at our school) and she did great but lost. She EARNED that silver medal and she is so thrilled! I am so proud of her!! Thank you all for your encouragement ❤️❤️❤️

Big Day!

Yesterday we surprised the kids and brought home a puppy!! They have been begging for one for years and we felt like the time was right to bring one home.

Meet Angus 🐕 He's a Golden Retriever/King Charles Cavalier Spaniel mix. He's 11 weeks old and currently weighs about 8 pounds, he should be around 35 pounds fully grown. I know it will be an adjustment for a while as he gets potty trained etc but we are so excited. 😂 Wish us luck! 🤪

Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.

What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?

Sunday, Aug 31st

Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.

For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...

Wed, September 30th

Happy Wednesday!! Thanks to those that joined the Livestream last night, it was a fun one. Today is the last day of September, tomorrow we can set new non-negotiable goals for October. One last piece thing to think about before we do that, based on what went well and where you got stuck for September. What is one thing you want to do differently for October? Any temptations this month you foresee? Will Halloween be an issue for you? We want to make sure our non-negotiable goals are realistic, so looking ahead to the upcoming month and understanding what setbacks might occur, can help us set some realistic goals to help us avoid them.

Think about the month ahead, what will be most challenging for you?

Good Evening Y'all!! I had a really rough day. I have had lower back pain and right foot pain all day. I've had lower back issues for years. But this right foot issue started in May after a week at the beach. It has progressively gotten worse. So I'm waiting for an appointment with an orthopedic doctor that specializes in feet. Prayers would be appreciated. I got to much going on to be down. I had an New York Strip tonight for dinner. It's been nice to have steak. We haven't had any in a while. We usually eat steak at least once sometimes twice a week. Blessings!!

I did it!! Boy yesterday was hard!! My kids asked for cookies (which they don't usually get) so I thought I would be nice and make a batch. Boy did those tempt me. I ended up way over eating on protein and such but at least I didn't eat a cookie!! Hahaha. I got to enjoy 1 funky end piece of ribeye, 2 burrito bowls, 3 hard boiled eggs, oh and two sparkling waters. I will take it! This morning I have 1 small funky end piece of ribeye (thankfully that's gone) and a couple hard boiled eggs. I don't know if I'll be hungry after work but if not I will enjoy a burrito bowl before going to watch botha football game and a cross country meet....in two different towns🤷.
