TIPS FOR USING LOCALS:
**Fyi since there are a lot of new people I figured I would share few tips about the platform.
**It is easiest to sign up on the browser/website because you don't have to deal with the Locals "coins"...but once you sign up you can download the app which makes daily interactions a bit easier.
**If you make a public post then anyone who has joined for free can see it. If you mark a post as "supporter only" then it will only been visible to people who are paying supporters. Just a heads up depending on how public/private you want it to be.
**I find it most helpful to filter by "RECENT" so everything stays in reverse chronological order. To change that look on the right side under "Sort By"
**The very first (and maybe second) time you make a post on the feed it has to be approved by an admin (me or Chris) so don't worry if you don't see your post right away...as soon as we see it we will approve it. After Locals knows you are an approved person then it goes public right away.
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Happy Friday! We are so excited that my Mom flies in today to spend Christmas and New Year's with us. The only Christmas she hasn't been with us since the kids were born was the Christmas that Chris went into the hospital and almost died 😂 so having her here makes us feel safe. Chris and I always get away for a little staycation for a couple days while she's here this time of year but mainly we all just play a lot of games and spend time together for the holidays.
Who are you spending time with over the next couple weeks?
Here I am!! dancing in the door I'm sure you all have missed my craziness...not really. LOL
In a nutshell, we've been BUSY, with shopping, wrapping, Littles, Cmas party, new job, up early to ride in with the man and all the things.
Job is still good and I'm still doing it on a wing and a prayer, meaning, little to no (basically NO) in-person training. So far, I've only royally screwed up one ledger and hopefully my account manager on that account can undo what I've done.
My preset is to get really down on myself, so I'm having to constantly remind myself, I was hired with them (at least the boss & possibly my manager), knowing I was green and would need help. I haven't gotten much, so I'm just doing what I think is right. I can't do correctly what I don't know to do and this screw up was because I was not told the order to enter transactions.
Ah well, hopefully it can be undone and redone. I'm also getting all the accounts that various other newbies had been working on, so it's all chaos. ...
Happy Thursday!! This time leading up to Christmas always makes me feel so motivated to deep clean and organize. 😂😂 I am sure it's in preparation of all the chaos and "stuff" of Christmas morning, but this past weekend I took a full car load of things to donate and another full car load to the dumpster.
I also did a 48 hour fast this week, my first one in a really long time. I feel like the more strict I am leading up to the holidays the better I feel and the easier it is for me to say 'No' to temptations because I am in such a good place.
Something about Christmas always makes me motivated to "reset" my body and my house. 😂😂 Officially one week until Christmas! 🎄
Have you done any fasting lately?
