TIPS FOR USING LOCALS:
**Fyi since there are a lot of new people I figured I would share few tips about the platform.
**It is easiest to sign up on the browser/website because you don't have to deal with the Locals "coins"...but once you sign up you can download the app which makes daily interactions a bit easier.
**If you make a public post then anyone who has joined for free can see it. If you mark a post as "supporter only" then it will only been visible to people who are paying supporters. Just a heads up depending on how public/private you want it to be.
**I find it most helpful to filter by "RECENT" so everything stays in reverse chronological order. To change that look on the right side under "Sort By"
**The very first (and maybe second) time you make a post on the feed it has to be approved by an admin (me or Chris) so don't worry if you don't see your post right away...as soon as we see it we will approve it. After Locals knows you are an approved person then it goes public right away.
Cheese is good! I ate a block of chipotle oven baked cheese with lunch yesterday and it was divine. I love it, but know that it halts any progress I'm making, and will even trigger eating in excess to where I'll gain weight. It's sad but I have accepted it. If I eat it in small quantities with a meal, it's ok, but I really have to work to keep it in check.
What's your favorite cheese? How do you incorporate it? Do you see negative results when eating it?
Happy Sunday! Sharing a video today from our week, one of the highlights. This was Wednesday evening church, normally they have a more casual prayer meeting where someone plays the guitar, but they were doing some construction in the fellowship hall so they had their prayer meeting in the sanctuary. No one was there to play the piano so my my Grandma did it, she's been playing the piano in church for probably 80 years.
For context, she's 88, she had a really bad fall 5 years ago now and hit her head and ended up with a lot setbacks, similar to having a stroke. She has a lot of dementia like symptoms also (I am sure related to her Type 2 diabetes), she really can't read music anymore, and she has trouble seeing well, and she needs to wear hearing aids to hear but hates wearing them, so on this night she didn't want to wear them. My 93 (almost 94) year old grandpa takes care of both of them on their farm. Anyway, on this night she sat down on the piano and led worship as people called ...
Happy Saturday! I hope you are all doing well. I know some people in the group have had some recent tough news for themselves or family members. It really puts the day to day issues we face into perspective, and reminds me to just focus on doing the best I can to be as healthy as possible. To those who are having a hard time, we are all here for you and sending you some prayers and support. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Just focus today on doing the best you can and remember that food isn't going to bring you the comfort you are looking for.
Here is a little video of Penelopes performance from her piano recital l last night, she's been taking lessons for about a year and a half. 🎹🤍🖤
*Livestream Monday night at 4pm pst/7pm est
Happy Tuesday!! I hope you are doing well, I know it's been a very heavy week for a lot of people in this group. Not only from some of the recent events but also just I know several people in this group are dealing with some pretty heavy things personally.
I'm going to be doing a couple of long walks today and I would love to pray for you while I'm walking. Share below any prayer requests you have and I will send some love and prayers your way on my walks. ❤️❤️🙏🏼 I hope you have a wonderful day.
Happy Tuesday evening!
Farmer is feeling worse and I'm a solid 87% better. Still have a cough but it is much better. We get worn out really quickly during the day, so I'm glad we got it now instead of in the middle of harvest.
Praise today: I made cookies to send to the grandtwins and neither of us ate a single one!
Finished my fast at 54 hours!! It was not 100% as I needed to take tic-tac mints to keep from choke/coughing at work from time to time and I did do a protein shake yesterday to ease me along. Still, I am proud of me. It's been a minute since I fasted that long. I still feel the high.

Hello all! I am finally back and ready to participate. Had a fantastic vacation to Yellowstone and spent seven glorious nights sleeping in a tent with just my hubby! I love the outdoors and was able to enjoy so many wonderful things, most of all just relaxing and being away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Bonus! I actually lost almost 5lbs. while on vacation. We packed most of our food we ate for the entire week and only ate out x2 the entire week. Also, since we were camping in bear country, we had to pack up all our food and keep it in our truck at night, so once dinner was done we just put all the food away, and that was it, no snacking or muching after dinner. Just ate all carnivore, except for a few pickles. It was simple and worked great.
Interesting tidbit from our time in Yellowstone. They talked about how a years ago (before bear proof garbages) bear scavenged through the garbage dumpsters looking for processed human foods. This was increasing the number of bears ...
